As the Bank Holiday Monday rolls around, it also feels like we’re gently saying goodbye to summer and getting ready for a new season 🍂
For lots of families, this week means the end of the six-week holidays and the start of a new school term. For others, it might mean home education, a different routine, a new school, a new year group, or simply finding your feet again after the summer.
As m**s ourselves, we know that this time of year can bring a real mix of emotions. Excitement, nerves, worry, relief, overwhelm… sometimes all at once.
So we just wanted to send a little extra love to the children heading into something new, to those who are unfairly stuck or overlooked by the system, and to the parents, grandparents and carers supporting them through it too. ❤️
Every child is different, every family is different, and not every transition is easy. Looking after their wellbeing, and our own, matters just as much as getting the uniforms, bags and timetables sorted.
Here at The Avenue, we’re going through a little seasonal change of our own too…
Our Summer Specials have now officially come to an end, and we’re so pleased with how much you all enjoyed them. Thank you to everyone who came in, tried something new and supported us throughout the summer. ☀️
And now… we’re heading into what we have very happily decided to call…

Some of your favourite pies will be making their return to the Specials Board, alongside some brand new ones too.
We’ve also got new autumnal scone flavours, cakes and some exciting new breakfast choices on the way over the coming weeks. 🍂
A new season, comforting food, familiar faces and plenty of cosy cafe days ahead.
We’re closed today, but we’ll be back open tomorrow and ready to welcome you in. ❤️
Whatever September brings for you and your family, our door will be open and the kettle will be on.
