So! On Monday night we served our last supper at
We hosted our third and final Family meal to a roomful of grateful loyal customers and high spirited friends of Nip and Cluck.

We cooked a belter of a dish to sign off on, which was smoky bbq chicken leg on a rich and comforting bed of mixed bean cassoulet with duck fat garlic crumbs.

The weather was dreadful outside with frosty gusts and sharp bitter rain, nothing at all like the climate, and ambience inside our home for the past two years.

It was fitting to come in to something so hearty and warming from the cold, part of what our ethos has been throughout our tenure in Whitstable.

Lots of thanks to those that have helped along the way and the customers that have come back so regularly to support us.

All the wonderful young staff we have had through the doors from the beginning to end.

Thank you Whitstable šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

And like we have said before, this will not be the end just a change in approach for now.

Dear Customers…

New Year is all about change and new beginnings, and indeed this time in 2023 we were announcing Nip & Cluck as a brand new concept for Whitstable. We’ve had a lot of fun over the last 2 years, and been lucky enough to meet and feed so many amazing people along the way, but as some of you will be saying to yourselves this month ā€œwe need a new challengeā€. So like many Whitstablians before us, we’re going to make like Dick Whittington, collect our cats and hit the road.

For 2025 we’re taking Nip & Cluck on the road with a programme of pop-ups and collaborations. The first dates will be in London (check our socials for details), but we’re also looking for opportunities in Whitstable and Kent, so if any of you reading have an event, venue or concept that we could collaborate with, please drop us a message.

But before we go we’re going to have two last hurrahs - one Last Roast on Sunday 9th February, and one Final Family Meal on Monday 10th February. These will be set price menus, and we hope to get a chance to have one-for-the-road with as many of our Regular Roasters and High St Heroes as possible. Places will be limited to allow us a chance to share a moment with as many or our regulars as we can.

So dear friends and good people of Whitstable, we thank you from the bottoms of our smokey hearts for all the warmth and support you’ve shown us during our tenure, it really was a blast and it’s adieu not goodbye!

Who’s thinking about this week’s Sunday roast?

We’ve sadly just had a pretty large group@booking cancel on us..
So in this light it’s time to assemble the gang (however large) and hit up the link in our bio to get a table at what we hear is rumoured to be ā€œWhitstable’s number one roastā€ !!

This week on offer there is our classic brined and fire roasted high welfare chicken or some crazy good wood grilled 45 day dry aged Ballindalloch Angus beef from the Cairngorm national park in Scotland.

To be served with rich bone gravy, dripping roast potatoes, charred cabbage, fondant carrot, 3 cheese cauliflower cheese & pigs and blankets.

For the veggies we have smoke roasted pumpkin with a wild mushroom gravy and full roast trimmings.

Now all you have to do is choose who’s coming, what time and which roast you want.
