Today's Whisky Wednesday comes from Stannergill Whisky.

We have the pleasure of introducing Saga No 4, the latest release in their limited edition Saga series.
This exceptional Highland whisky blend has been created not only to be enjoyed but also to help raise funds for the vital regeneration of Castletown Mill .
Carefully selected grain and single malt whiskies have been expertly blended and matured for a minimum of 10 years .

Crafted using copper pot stills that combine time-honoured whisky-making techniques with modern efficiency, Stannergill Whisky reflects both heritage and innovation.
Made using water from the Loch of Durran and locally grown barley, this is a whisky truly shaped by Caithness itself, from the fresh sea air of Dunnet Bay to the pure Highland waters that help create its distinctive character.
Bottled at 46.7% ABV, this whisky is non-chill filtered and contains no added colouring.

Each label uses symbolic photographs from the history of Castletown Mill.

Saga No 4 pays tribute to Benjamin ‘Ben’ Calder, a stoic local figure remembered for his resilience, resourcefulness, and quiet wisdom.

Tasting Notes -
On the nose: Warm vanilla, toasted oak, a hint of orchard fruit
On the palate: Ripe stone fruit, soft peat smoke, and salted caramel
Finish: Long and mellow, with a gentle coastal influence.
Balanced, bold, and never to be underestimated, this is a dram that proudly carries the spirit of Caithness in each and every sip.

🥃🥃🥃Todays offering in our Whisky Wednesday🥃🥃🥃 comes from the legendary Gordon and MacPhails .

Macphail's Aged 50 yrs Speyside Single Malt Whisky 70cl ·
This old style bottling comes in at 40% ABV and is a true celebration of traditional Speyside craftmanship.

Like the 3 swirls of the Gaelic symbol for uisge beatha - "the water of life " depicted on the bottle there is only 3 ingredients used in it's creation - Water , Yeast and Malted Barley.

Distilled to order and matured in their own refill old -fashioned sherry casks The distillery of Origin remains a closely guarded secret adding an irresistible air of mystery to every bottle.

Despite it's age this malt is anything but tired.

On the nose expect wonderfully mature aromas of old book shops, Sherry warehouses, linseed oil, old leather, haylofts, to***co box, candied peel and gentle earthy smoke

The palate is rich and complex , initially opening with buttery-dried fruit cake , before developing into hints of old cigar box , tea chest wood, leafy , with some savoury smoke,old leather and sherry soaked sultana too.

The finish is long, dry and elegant with spicy oak, earthy chestnuts and subtle aromatic smoke lingering beautifully .

Established in 1895 Gordon and MacPhail remains family owned and has spent generations perfecting the art of selecting and maturing some of the world's finest and rarest single malts in the world and this remarkable dram is a shining example of that legacy.

A whisky with history , mystery and incredible depth in every sip.

How about trying an Elder flower Mojito 😋

INGREDIENTS
20 ML ST‑GERMAIN ELDERFLOWER LIQUEUR
35 ML BACARDÍ CARTA BLANCA RUM
20 ML FRESH LIME JUICE
2 TEA SPOONS OF CASTER SUGAR
30 ML SPARKLING WATER
MINT SPRIG TO GARNISH

DIRECTIONS
Pour St‑Germain, white rum, freshly squeezed lime juice, sugar and mint into a highball glass.
Add crushed ice and churn well.
Add more crushed ice then top with a splash of sparkling water.
Garnish with a sprig of mint and a straw. Enjoy

Well, it turns out Jimmy rode his bicycle 🚲 to the off licence to pick up a bottle of rum the other day. 🚴
It was a glass bottle so he was awfully worried that he would break it if he fell off the bike on his way home, so in his infinite wisdom , he decided to drink the whole thing before he started pedaling home.

Turns out it was a good thing too, as he must have fallen off that bike at least seven times on his way home .😜😂🙃

Binends Whisky Wednesday offering this week is
🥃🥃🥃 21 Years Old Partners' Reserve 🥃🥃🥃

Following an original Hankey Bannister recipe crafted using a blend of exceptional malts whisky from distilleries including Old Pulteney, Balblair, Knockdhu, Speyburn and Balmenach alongside select Lowland grain whiskies .
Each whisky in the blend has been matured for a minimum of 21 Years creating a rich, luxurious character.

Matured in a combination of the finest Spanish oak ex-sherry , ex-bourbon casks and American ex-bourbon casks the contrasting wood influence gives this Scotch its wonderfully complex, characterful flavour profile.
It the glass , it pours a deep honey colour with warm bronze highlights. On the nose you'll find layers of aromatic dried fruit , vanilla oak and gentle spice. The palate is soft and smooth delivering creamy toffee, vanilla , hints of Christmas cake and rich dark chocolate notes.

The a new look geometric bottle is every bit as premium as the whisky itself , featuring gold foil detailing , an embossed metallic label and a dark wood cork closure. Presented in a luxurious soft leather effect embossed box , it makes the perfect dram for celebrating special occasions - especially a memorable 21st Birthday.
