We are committed to offering you quick and convenient food options that remain nutritious and healthy (something that is uncommon). Situated on our free-range hen farm, you can purchase Betty’s Eggs laid on the farm, get quick and easy recipe ideas that all use our free-range eggs, and purchase all the ingredients you’ll need from our store. Betty’s 30 years in egg production, we are giving back o

ur industry knowledge through our team of Eggsperts! Betty’s followers are all informed about the production of their eggs, educational content on the health benefits of eggs and treated to 1- minute cook-along videos of Betty’s recipes. Betty’s Farm is a great place to come for those of us tight on time to obtain all the ingredients needed for your home-cooked meal quickly and conveniently. Or, for those of us who would like to take a break, grab a coffee and watch our beautiful free-range hens roam the land.

REPORT ⚡️🐔

Well… THAT was a night! 😳

Last night we were tucked up nicely in our beds, dreaming of mealworms and scratching around in the morning… when suddenly BOOM! FLASH! CRACK! ⚡️⛈️

Honestly, who gave the sky permission to start flashing its lights at bedtime?! We thought someone had forgotten to turn the farm lights off! 😂

There was thunder rumbling, lightning putting on a spectacular show and a few of us may have had a little wobble on the perch… 🫣

Although, being brave farm girls, we obviously did NOT panic.

We simply…
🐔 clucked loudly
🐔 shuffled closer together
🐔 and conducted a thorough safety inspection of the hen house. 😉

This morning we are back to our usual important chicken business — eating, scratching, laying eggs and generally running the place.

Because, let's be honest… the weather may run the skies, but WE run the farm! 👑🐔

Hope everyone survived the great midnight disco! ⚡️🤣

🐔🥚 A little egg reassurance… with a side of chicken stamp drama! 😂
With all the recent egg news and scare stories doing the rounds, we just wanted to reassure our lovely customers that our eggs are very much Red Lion Quality assured ❤️🦁🥚
That means we follow all the rules and regulations required for the health, welfare and safety of our chickens, along with the necessary salmonella testing and egg safety checks.
So while our poor little chicken stamping away in the background is currently having a complete meltdown with her stamp… 🐔🤣✋
we promise the humans have got the important stuff under control!
Our eggs are produced under the Red Lion scheme, with the appropriate testing and traceability in place, because your safety — and the health of our girls — is always a priority. ❤️

So basically… stamp issues? Yes. 🐔😂
Egg safety issues? Absolutely not. 🥚❤️

Chicken announcement withAdvice 🌞🐔🌑
Dear humans,
A few words of advice from the chickens…
With this ridiculous heat, please remember to keep the drinks topped up, provide plenty of shade and DO NOT expect us to perform miracles. We are currently running on approximately 3% battery. 🥵😂
And apparently tonight the Moon is going to have a little go at covering the Sun… 🌑☀️
Honestly, we’ve already got enough going on without the sky joining in.
So if it suddenly gets dark and we all stop laying eggs, don’t panic…
we’ve simply decided it’s bedtime. 😂🐔
Stay cool, stay hydrated and keep your feathers out of the sun!

🚨 Calling all Betty Box Hoarders! 🥚🐔
Right then... confession time... our lovely old Betty Farm 6-egg boxes are about to become an endangered species! 😱
Our brand new, swanky egg boxes are winging their way to us and should land very soon (the hens are very excited... they've been practising their poses already 📸🐓).
BUT...
We've got a few days where we might run a little short.
So, if you've got any empty Betty Farm 6-egg boxes lurking in the boot of the car, on the kitchen side, in the pantry, or being used to store "bits and bobs" 🙈, we'd be incredibly grateful if you could pop them back to us.
Every returned box helps us bridge the gap until the new flock... sorry... batch arrives! 🥚❤️
And if, over the next few days, your eggs arrive in a plain brown box, don't panic! The chickens haven't gone all minimalist... they're still the same fresh Betty Farm eggs, just wearing a temporary outfit until their fancy new wardrobe arrives. 😄

Over the weekend at the chicken farm...

Just the usual really...

🐔 Got pecked by the grumpy one (again!).
🐔 Nearly ended up flat on my face after being tripped up by the Terrible Three.
🐔 Was kindly escorted by the helpful one to find the poor, unloved hen who'd wandered off for a bit of peace and quiet.
☀️ And, of course, there was plenty of time spent basking in the sunshine, watching the girls enjoy life exactly as chickens should.

Every flock has its own characters, and I wouldn't swap this feathered bunch for anything... even if they do keep me on my toes! ❤️🐓

Now it's time to welcome a brand new week, embrace everything August has to offer, and see what adventures the girls have in store next. Happy Monday! 🌿☀️

Every morning it's the same...
🐔 05:59am: "Are they open yet?"
🐔 06:00am: "Move over, Brenda... I was here first!"
🐔 06:01am: "Oi! No queue jumping!"
Pop holes don't even open till 9am ....
Watching the girls waiting for the pop holes to open is a bit like watching thousands of people waiting for the gates to open at a music festival.
Same excitement.
Same determination to get the best spot.
Same one chicken trying to squeeze through a gap that clearly isn't big enough. 🤦‍♀️😂
The only difference? Our headliners are worms, dust baths and a fresh patch of grass! 🎶🌱🐛

🥚 Egg-citing Fact of the Day! 🥚
"How can the same hens lay different coloured eggs?" we hear you ask...
Well... our girls clearly haven't read the instruction manual! 🤷‍♀️🐔
Just like we all have good hair days and "absolutely not" hair days, hens can produce eggs with slightly different shell colours. Things like age, diet, stress, the weather, and where they are in their laying cycle can all affect how much natural pigment gets added to the shell.
One day it's a lovely rich brown... the next it's a paler latte... occasionally it throws in a speckled masterpiece just to keep life interesting! ☕🥚🎨
So don't worry – it's the same hardworking hen, just wearing a different outfit for the day.
After all... even our chickens like to keep us guessing! 😉🐔❤️

🐔 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CHICKENS... 🐔

You may have noticed we've added some rather smart new benches out in the range. Before the rumours start... we'd like to explain what they're actually for. 😉

✅ They ARE for:
🐔 Providing a bit of sun shelter for our ladies.
🦅 Giving them somewhere to dive under if a predator flies overhead.
🐓 Something to hop up on and feel like Queen of the Coop.
🏃‍♀️ Playing the chicken version of relay races from one bench to the next.
🌞 Sprinting from shade to shade without ending up as slightly overcooked roast chickens in this weather!

❌ They are NOT for:
🥪 Customer picnic lunches.
🍦 Sitting down for an ice cream.
☕ A catch-up and a gossip session.
🚶‍♀️ Wandering around the chicken range.
💬 Passing the time of day with the girls... they're lovely, but they don't like sharing their furniture! 😉

So, as tempting as it looks, please don't ask if you can go into the fields. ❤️

The benches have been put there solely for our feathered ladies, so they can stay cool, safe, happy and continue laying those delicious eggs for you.

Thank you for helping us keep our girls stress-free... although knowing them, they'll probably spend most of the afternoon arguing over who gets the best seat anyway! 🐔😂🥚

If you've bought a dozen or half-dozen eggs from us over the last few days, please don't panic if you spot a date reading 24/06.

Our lovely hens have gone slightly bonkers in the heat and seem to have forgotten what month it is! 🐔🤪

The correct best-before date is 24/07, not 24/06.

Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for bearing with our feathered little friends 💛
