The Evolution of the Humble Home Drinking Water System 💧
When I first started in this industry, a “drinking water system” usually meant a small tap on the side of the sink, connected to the hard water supply through a simple carbon filter.
It gave beautifully crisp water for cold drinks — but when it came to tea and coffee? Not so great. The calcium was still there, so limescale was still a problem.
Every now and then, customers would ask for something called “RO.”
The proper name is Reverse Osmosis — a process that uses a membrane to separate pure water from dissolved minerals and impurities.
We installed plenty of them. And while they produced incredibly clean water, they had their downsides:
Slow flow rates
Limited storage capacity
And, let’s be honest… not the prettiest things to look at
The next step forward was an RO system with a built-in pump, all neatly contained in one box.
It was more efficient and far better visually — but still restricted by delivery capacity.
So what did we really want?
An RO system that:
Delivers continuous, super-clean water
Provides strong flow rates (fill saucepans and jugs without waiting!)
Has minimal waste
Looks great in your kitchen
That’s exactly why we developed our Signature Range.
✨ 2.5 litres per minute
✨ Continuous supply
✨ Exceptionally pure water
✨ Optional mineral rebalancing for incredible taste
And when paired with one of our stylish three-way taps, you get a seamless, elegant solution — clean, great-tasting water for the whole family, straight from your kitchen sink.
Clean water has come a long way… and we’re proud to be part of that evolution.
One additional benefit of these modern RO systems is we can now pair them with our Quooker boiling taps.
