Hey gang,

So unfortunately last weekend was my last.
Due to company policy at The Cricks I am unable to trade this weekend!!

Just want to say a massive thank you to Carl and the staff at The Cricks and an even bigger one to the people who came each week to eat my food and make me smile.

It’s a bittersweet ending for me at this location but it’s also the start of my next chapter. I will see you all soon in another kitchen with another menu. (And a few personal faves from times past)

Keep your eyes peeled for some events in the coming months and if anyone fancies having little old Bob cook up a storm in their kitchen gimme a shout.

So I’ve learned this week that…

Red food colouring works better than red cabbage water at dyeing mayo (obviously) although don’t get this on your fingers children!

I come out alright when printed on a pint.

The beef loaded fries were a favourite and continue to improve with every portion made.

You need to wet your nose for the blackhead strip to stick.

Deglazing with Guinness looks cool af.

I can make popcorn chicken. Result.
Very happy Bob, dunno why I didn’t think about just making it smaller.

The Yorkie wraps travel very well and stay hot (thank you mum for road testing this)

Big brain move, saving space by using my Bain Marie as part bao steamer, works for now so idgaf.

New bao flavours are landing well! xoxoxox

Might have to make a lamb madras bao at some point

There’s something poetic about a chair at a fruity.

P.S Seeing the buttermilk mayo pink did freak me out for some reason.

So I’ve learned this week that you cannot dehydrate wasabi paste without ending up in a ball on the floor crying from the fumes (it just turns into fruit leather)

Do not know why I haven’t put bbq sauce on this chicken sooner, it’s a fu***ng game changer and I like me some bbq.

I used to be in a band called Lovebutter but I do not love it enough to spend £6 on it. (Sort it out )

Heavy music is best to shake dredge too.

I’m getting marginally better at playing darts. I really like the new beef bao and my nephew has inherited the fridge gazing gene from me.

Oh and it’s rained loads.

Massive thank you to all that have supported me on this journey, I have honestly had an absolute ball of a time and very much look forward to continuing int 2026.

It’s not easy running all this as one person and I have learnt a lot on the way the future is looking very good and I cannot wait to share with you what’s to come.
