🇿🇦🎉 MILTON KEYNES TO HOST ITS FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN HERITAGE DAY FAMILY FUN DAY!

A colourful celebration of South African culture, food, music and traditions is coming to Milton Keynes this weekend.

The Family Fun Day celebrating South African Heritage Day will take place at St Mary’s Wavendon School on:

📅 Saturday 19th September 2026
⏰ 1pm to 8pm
📍 St Mary’s Wavendon School, Wavendon, Milton Keynes, MK17 7AA

Organisers say this is the first event of its kind in Milton Keynes, bringing the community together to celebrate South Africa’s diverse cultures, languages, history and traditions.

There’ll be plenty happening throughout the day, including:

🇿🇦 South African food stalls
🔥 Traditional braai-style food
🎶 Music
💃 South African traditional dance performances
🎯 Games and family activities
❤️ Fun for all ages

South African Heritage Day is all about celebrating the country’s many cultures and identities, and it’s often associated with “Braai Day”, with families and friends coming together over food.

Whether you’re South African, have connections to the country or simply fancy experiencing something different, everyone is welcome.

Join us at The Old Court for our celebration of South African Heritage Day - part of our on-going World Day Events.

Entertainment: We are excited to have Nathan Smith playing for us as part of the celebrations. Nathan is a South African guitarist, singer and session musician with a career spanning some of the country's biggest stages and television productions. His credits include The Voice SA, Idols, Strictly Come Dancing SA, Noot vir Noot and numerous major live productions, alongside years of touring and performing as one of South Africa's sought-after session guitarists.

Nathan will be entertaining us from 4.00pm with a set specifically tailored for our Heritage Day Crowd, with plenty of familiar favourites as well as some proper South African nostalgia!!

South African food Truck 'Greedy Giraffe' will be joining us all day to bring you some 'Lekker' authentic SA munch! . Their menu includes Vetkoek and curry mince or chicken mayo, Creamy chicken livers and toasted bread, Toasted chicken mayo sandwiches., Boerewors rolls, Boerie box(fries with boerewors pieces, Cheese sauce(optional) and onion rings, Potato twirls (curly full potato on a kebab stick), Chips, and Boerewors burgers. There may even be some gem squash available!!!

Bring your family and friends down after the Springbox V Australia match, grab a pint or two of Castle B**r, or maybe a Klippies and coke and enjoy the day with us....
