Honestly guys, we went to load the car up this morning and I just thought, bu**er this 🫣 the rain and wind isn’t much fun!

Morning guys 💕

We are sadly not at Chatteris market today.

This week we have made the decision to start attending fortnightly instead of weekly.

The past 8 or so months, trade has declined to the point I’m actually selling only a 1/3rd of what I used to regularly sell. We’re hoping that going every other week instead may boost this (and frees me up to take more orders on Thursdays & Fridays).

Everything we take is baked fresh; meaning it can all be frozen (and freezes very well!), so if you like a weekly sweet treat you can always pop bits in the freezer for the week we aren’t there ❤️

CHANGE IN PAYMENT POLICY 💰

Morning everyone.

Sadly, I am having to make a change and implement our payment policy properly. As we all know, I am usually super relaxed and laid back.

Some events, such as weddings, their balance is due 6 weeks before the date. Other buffets and catering gigs are usually due 2 weeks before. I always give people leeway if I can, especially for celebration of life catering.

With wake catering especially, I issue an invoice before the day, and I have always accepted payment before, on the day, or a few days after as I appreciate finances may be tough if it was unexpected, or if you need to go via probate to release funds from someone’s estate.

I am finding myself having to chase and chase balances owed, and when these are upwards of £1000, it really has a knock on effect as a small, sole trader.

So sadly, going forward, all balances must be paid in full at least 48 hours before the event.

No payment, I will be unable to cater. Having issues and think you will struggle? All I ask is you communicate with me.

I work with a strict budget and non-payment when the income is expected has a huge knock on effect. To then go silent and not reply - I will have no choice but to give you a deadline to pay. Non-payment WILL result in further action.

Just thinking about our next restaurant pop-up… how do peeps feel about a Halloween themed one?!

Seems a shame to not utilise the fact Halloween is on a Saturday this year! 👀

Our Italian “Murder in Messina” went down so well, we’d look to put together something similar (and you all seemed to love dressing up 🤭😉).
