“Free-range” sounds like a promise. Legally, it just means up to 13 birds per square metre indoors, with “access to the outside” shared with the other 15,000 birds in the shed.
Ours move to fresh pasture every day, in flocks of 60. More than double the space per bird the law requires, and none of the crowd.
This is what pasture-raised actually looks like.

Doing more for our friendly butchers ❤️

🐓 Something special is landing on butchers’ counters soon…

We’ve made a little leaflet — and it tells the story we’ve always wanted every customer to hear.

Because our chicken isn’t just chicken. It’s slow-grown, the way it should be. Pasture-raised out in the open, with room to roam, scratch and just be birds. Every one is local and fully traceable, so you always know exactly where your dinner came from.

And here’s the part we’re proudest of: our birds are processed right here on the same farm they’re reared on. No crates. No long, stressful journeys to a centralised abattoir miles away. Just calm, careful handling from field to counter — and it’s something you can genuinely taste.

We’re popping this leaflet into the hands of the butchers who share our values, so they can pass the whole story on to you. 🌾

Next time you’re at the counter, look out for it — and ask your butcher about the farm behind the bird.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been delivering samples to a number of local butchers, giving them the chance to try our pasture-raised Berkshire Broilers.

We’re pleased to say that we’ve also welcomed some exciting new butcher partnerships, and we can’t wait to share them with you! 🤝
