We were delighted to welcome the Eastern Counties Golden Retrievers Club last weekend for their working test. What a lovely bunch 😊

Beautiful dogs, happy owners and a great atmosphere. Well done to everyone who competed, to the club committee for organising and all the bakers for the delicious cakes.

Our three year old gave all the cakes the official thumbs up 🎂 🥮 👍

Days like this are Suffolk at its best. People enjoying the countryside and the dogs doing what they do best 🐾 🐾

We’ve been a little quiet on lamb recently. We haven’t stopped by any means, but the drought has been proving so incredibly difficult for our grazier 🔥 🥵

Our lambs are grass fed on our (normally) luscious water meadows. However with the drought, what would normally be lush, nutritious grazing has become dry and sparse. And they have been struggling to come up to weight 😔 😟

We’ve kept a close eye on the flock and ensured they had feed and water, but it has been far from straight forward.

There is now some light at the end of the tunnel as some will be ready this week, hurray! 🥳🥳

And we already have stock in the freezer. Get your lamb orders in 😍😊

Home after a brilliant day at Groundswell Festival Massive well done to all involved in organising 👏 👏

To name a couple of highlights... there are too many to list 😎

Attending the FOOD SECURITY IS NATIONAL SECURITY session led by Emily Norton with Daniel Zeichner, Jimmy Woodrow and Ali Morpeth Pasture for Life
And seeing an old friend Darina Allen from Ireland 🇮🇪 while there at such an important discussion.

Hearing about FAST trees 🌳 😌 for cool cows and snug sheep 🐑 Know the sheep at Naunton have really been struggling with the heat recently 🥵 so this felt ever more relevant and vital.

And general amazing exhibitors, wonderful speakers and delicious food.

Looking forward to next year already 😄

While our little man may not have been keen to pop on his white coat quite yet, everyone (particularly our grazier Steve) was nothing other than wonderfully encouraging 😀
