I’m very excited to be teaming up again with for this early summer foraging walk. Early summer is a brilliant time to forage, with the smell of elderflower heavy in the air! This is a moderate walk of around 3 miles, starting and finishing at Ad Gefrin where you’ll then have the option to revitalise with a discounted Sunday lunch.. and maybe a wee dram! 🥃

Get it in your diary’s now, the fungi fest will be back and undoubtably be better than ever… and in a new location!

The Northern Fungi Festival is back for 2026!

We're very happy to be bringing this celebration of all things fungi back for its second year - these time we are being hosted by Ruberslaw Wild Woods Camping, over the border near Denholm. Sitting on 500 acres of unspoilt upland is set in the heart of the Teviot Valley's Special Landscape Area, this year is set to be a very immersive experience.

We're still very much in the early stages of planning, but we wanted to let you know that the festival will be taking place on Sunday 11th October.

If anyone would like to be involved whether it be fungal forays, market stalls, or activity providers, please feel free to reach out to us via Messenger and let us know.

We'll be releasing more information over the coming months as it comes in, but for now, mark your calendars for 11th October.

Where would a forager be without a good basket! 🧺 It’s no wonder lots of us become a wee bit obsessed and get into weaving too. Really chuffed with my two latest creations! Not quite at the teaching or selling stage yet, definitely a bit more practice needed but hopefully by next year.

It’s always a long and impatient wait for spring to really take hold up here. I’m already seeing others further south, picking their first wild garlic and hogweed of the year, but that’s weeks away for us North Northumbrians. 🌱🌼

However by the end of March our hedgerows are a smorgasbord of wild food goodness, so here are my first couple of hedgerow walks available to book now.
