Taken a month ago , this photo shows our earliest Perry Pear blossom . This variety is unusual in that it is Russet. We have three old trees and two new grafted ones . DNA analysis came back unidentified and never seen before , so a local variety . We put it through accreditation in November and named it Lingens Brown Russet .
The fruit is very astringent and sweet .
