Apparently yesterday was International Dog Day 🤷‍♂️

We can’t believed we missed it, so here we go.
For those that don’t know them already, we have two dogs at the farm. Moss (sat up) and Badger (laid down). They are both Border Collies and are working dogs
(but they do sleep in the house) 😅
Whether it’s morning cuddles with our coffee or chasing sheep from somewhere they shouldn’t be…
We’d be truly lost without these two 🥰

So cheers to you Moss and Badge 🥂

Believe it or not, but this is what a full site looks like at Warren Farm.
With only 12 tent pitches, you’re guaranteed privacy and peacefulness!
Nearly all our guests last weekend were attending Nozstock The Hidden Valley for their Beefstock event, so a big thanks to the organisers for bringing more people to visit our local area 🤩☺️

He has a name 🤩

Introducing “Derek”
Thanks to all of you who responded to our story about names for our new ram to be. There were some great suggestions and lots to choose from!
Derek has now joined Bazil in the bachelor pad(dock) and as you can see he’s got quite a bit of growing to do before we can compare the two of them!
As Bazil is getting older we have decided to rear one of our own rather than buy one in, so fingers crossed Derek continues to grow into a strong ram for years to come

Making hay while the sun shines

It’s seems every farmer across the country was making hay last week, so we thought we better join in 🤩
400 big bales made and stacked in the shed ready for winter! Once we’ve finished making hay at the end of summer we will count up what we have in stock and decide how much to sell and how much to keep.

A lot of our grassland fields are rather steep, which is why we use square bales! But even that doesn’t stop them rolling sometimes…. 😅 (See video)

Shearing completed 🤩

Our Hebridean sheep have had their annual haircut, and now Basil the ram is much happier in this warm weather we’re having!
For the past few years now we have been using our wool to make yoga mats, rugs, cushion and bespoke items for customers.
Victoria has already started weaving some of this years wool and the colours are fantastic 🤗
