A.D.S Traditional Grass Fed Mutton, Hoggett & Lamb Traditionally produced, pasture fed and slow grown in the beautiful Herefordshire and Worcestershire countryside. They range from 2-5 years old at present.

All mutton, hogget and lamb wethers (castrated males) are homebred and reared to the highest health and welfare standards from birth to fork. Quality, traditional reared mutton from the Herefordshire/ Worcestershire Border. The sheep (wethers) are all homebred from my own flock, pasture fed and slow grown. They are kept to the highest health and welfare standards which are carefully ensured and ma

intained from birth to fork so you can be certain these animals have had a wonderful life and the fantastic taste of the meat reflects this! Available breeds include Lleyn, Kerry Hill, Welsh Mountain, Black Welsh Mountain and in time, Hebridean. There are also Charollais x Welsh as another alternative. Slow grown and high welfare pasture fed hogget raised naturally and nearby on the Herefordshire/ Worcestershire border, locally butchered to your own requirements.

Choose from:

* Whole hogget
* Half hogget
* Quarter hogget
* Taster boxes (1 roast, 2 chops, 1 pack of mince)

Facts about hogget:

- aged between lamb and mutton at 1 - 2 years old. They are slowly finished and matured for longer than lamb, resulting in a larger quantity of more flavoursome meat which is darker and very tender.

- health benefits to the consumer include high levels of omega 3 fatty acids as well as being high in anti oxidants and a good source of zinc, iron, selenium and vitamin B12.

- can be cooked in the same way as lamb or at a lower temperature and more slowly like mutton.

- versatile with a real depth of flavour and pairs well with classic English herbs, Brassicas and mushrooms.

- championed by chefs including Tommy Banks, twice winner of BBC’ Great British Menu and head chef at the Michelin starred Black Swan in Oldstead. According to Trip Advisor this is the Best Restaurant in the World!

The meat from my extensively and ethically reared, pasture fed sheep has higher vitamin and mineral levels than meat from their intensively reared, grain fed counterparts - and the taste is exceptional!
