Assistant Brewer
Salary £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience.
Full time, 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday with sampling duties for 1hr every 3rd weekend.
This is a hands on role based in the brewhouse, responsible for the day to day brewing, packaging and cleaning operations. This includes wort production, racking, bottling, and supporting the smooth, safe and efficient running of the brewery, reporting to the Brewhouse Manager.
This person will be working very closely in a small team of 10 and should be used to a physical job. There is a large amount of heavy manual handling involved in this role with 60kg casks handled all day. Manual handling training is provided, and employees are expected to wear suitable protective equipment as provided by the company.

Main duties include:
• Carry out daily brewing, packaging and cellar operations, including racking and bottling
• Cleaning out vessels
• Cask washing and manual work around the brewery and yard
• Complete accurate production and quality records, both on paper and via Breww
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety, food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all brewery areas
• Actively seek opportunities to learn, develop skills and expand brewing knowledge
• Supporting the delivery team where needed
Essential skills:
• Computer skills or experience with Apps
• Experience in a manual work environment
• Experience keeping records
Desirable skills:
• Fork-lift truck licence
• Experience of working with food safety system e.g SALSA or BRC
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• General Certificate in Brewing or keen knowledge of the brewing process
