I can not see why the council. Who are responsible for the offering in Oxford’s Covered Market can not clear some the space currently allocated to seating and or empty units and allow local vegetable producers and growers free space couple of days a week. This would begin to recreate the original purpose of the market and create the ambiance and spectacle people will seek out. The current formula followed by the council is totally wrong headed. Their pursuit for higher rents is self destructive and will ensure the failure of any revival of the market as a place for small local artisans, growers and producers.
