Sussex Chilli Farm We are community project growing chillies and producing jams, sauces and oils. A Sustainable Sussex Project working with various needs groups.

Sussex Chilli Farm, a Sustainable Sussex project began in January 2015 with 650 chilli seedlings being grown by volunteers who find access to the workplace difficult, including people with learning disabilities, autism, people with health problems and long term unemployed. Based at Worthing Leisure Centre, our first grow is housed in 3 small poly tunnels and 2 greenhouses. We have been selling plants and pods and will be producing a range of chilli jams, sauces and oils soon! We are pesticide free and aim for our growing to be as sustainable as possible, planning large scale rainwater harvesting and using other off-grid and low impact technologies. Chill plants and Chilli products for sale at The Fen Farm Community Spring Fair this Tuesday 26th May from 10.30am. Lots going on - come and visit us!

This Tuesday 26th May at 10.30am until 3pm is our Community Spring Fair at The Fen Farm, Test Road in Sompting.

Sussex Chilli Farm has been simmering since January when we began sowing our seeds. Thanks to The CLA Charitable Trust and Sompting Estates’ support we are part way through building our propagation benches and they are in use already!
We have even built the first shelf for growing healthy tendril-peas and other crops at risk of being nibbled by our ever-present mouse and vole population!
Sussex Chilli Farm is a social enterprise based in Sompting - part of Sustainable Sussex, creating opportunities for people who find access to the workplace difficult and providing fresh food to our community in partnership with Sompting Estate.
