What a weekend!

Saturday brought rain, wind and plenty of uncertainty. Sunday brought blue skies and sunshine. Two completely different days, but one thing stayed exactly the same… your support.

As market traders, the weather can make or break a day. We spend half our lives checking weather apps, trying to work out what the weekend is going to look like. When you’ve baked a mountain of stock and wake up to pouring rain, it’s hard not to worry.

But once again, you all came out and supported us in huge numbers at both Beverley and Skirlington, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

We never take it for granted that you choose to spend your hard earned money with us, and every single purchase, comment, share and recommendation means more than you’ll ever know.

Now, onto something else…

We received an email this week regarding a potential opportunity for Totally Caked.

All we’ll say is that it’s somewhere a lot of you will be familiar with, and we’re heading there on Wednesday for a meeting to discuss things further.

It might be nothing.

It might be something.

But if it goes the way we’re hopeing, it could be a very exciting step forward for Totally Caked.

As soon as we know more, you’ll know more.

Skirlington Market & carnage mode has officially been activated 🙌🏼

Guys, if you’re heading out today, come down and get your hands on Yorkshire’s boldest bakes!

The stall is absolutely loaded and we’ve brought pretty much everything with us today. From cookie pies and brownies to flapjacks, traybakes, cheesecakes and plenty more… we’ve gone all out.

We’re here until it’s gone, so come and see us, grab your favourites and say hello.

Being a market trader can be a daunting feeling when the weather is looking grim, especially when you’ve baked a mountain of bakes ready for the day ahead.

With rain forecast for pretty much the entire day, setting up this morning felt pretty disheartening. There’s always that uncertainty of what the day is going to bring.

I’ve said this a million times before, and I’ll keep saying it… our customers are simply the best.

Even with the weather against us, you all still came out in force ❤️

We were genuinely overwhelmed by the number of people who came to see us today. The support you continue to show our little business is truly amazing 💕

From me, Laura, and the entire Totally Caked team, thank you to everyone who stopped by, bought some bakes, shared a kind word, had a laugh 😂 or simply came over to say hello.

The weekend has arrived, and so has the huge Totally Caked line up you’ve all come to know and love.

We’ll be at Beverley Market tomorrow loaded up with an incredible selection of traybakes, cookie pies, brownies, flapjacks, cheesecakes and plenty more. If you’re someone who struggles to decide what to pick, we’re not making it any easier this week!

We’ll be fully set up and ready to go from 9am until 2pm, so come down, grab your favourites, and say hello.

We absolutely love being part of Beverley Market. The traders, the atmosphere and the people of East Yorkshire are second to none ❤️

Five years ago, I had absolutely no idea where this journey would take us.

At the time, I’d just walked away from the only industry I’d ever known. It was scary, uncertain and there were plenty of moments where we questioned whether we’d made the right decision.

Fast forward to today and we’ve built something we’re incredibly proud of.

Not just a baking business, but a community of people who support us week in, week out. People who have followed our journey from the very beginning and continue to back us every single day.

This reel isn’t about telling people how to run a business.

It’s simply a few things I’d tell myself if I could go back and start again.

The mistakes we’ve made.

The lessons we’ve learned.

And the things that genuinely helped us grow.

Building a business from scratch isn’t easy. There are sacrifices people never see, sleepless nights, setbacks, self doubt and plenty of moments where giving up would have been easier.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that showing up every day, even when nobody is watching, eventually pays off.

To everyone who has supported Totally Caked over the years, whether you’ve bought a bake, liked a post, left a comment, shared our content or simply followed our journey…

Thank you.

We should have been at Pocklington today…

The weather apps said rain all day, so we made the call not to go. Fast forward a few hours and it’s stayed dry for most of the day. Safe to say we’re questioning our life choices!

The girls haven’t stopped though. Wholesale orders are flying out, Father’s Day Boxes are being prepared and we’re excited to announce that they’ll be going LIVE TOMORROW! 👀🔥

We’re also already gearing up for another huge weekend.

Last Sunday at Skirlington was absolutely mental. We set up at 8:15am, started serving at 8:30am and didn’t stop until every last bake had gone. Sold out by 12:30pm.

So we’re doing it all again this weekend.

We’re at Skirlington Market and we haven’t even finished setting up yet… and already we’ve been absolutely mobbed!

There’s a reason this place has been thriving for over 40 years. The atmosphere is incredible, the traders are amazing, and thousands of people return week after week to support local family run businesses.

If you’ve never been, today is the day to see what all the fuss is about!
