🎃 THE SPOOKY VIBES HAVE ARRIVED IN THE CAFE! 🕷️☕

Farmer Frankie and Farmer Kelly have been busy adding some fantastic Halloween touches down at the Beetle Bank Farm Cafe! No full-scale haunted house just yet, but we are officially getting into the festive spirit! 🙌✨

Our cafe menus are now guarded by creepy-crawly spiders 🕷 and swooping bats🦇, and we’ve even got some very special spooky rubber ducks keeping a watchful eye over our ice cream counter! 🦆🍦🧟‍♂️

It is the perfect setting to grab a hot drink or a treat while you get ready for SpookFest 2026! running daily during half-term from Monday 26th October – Saturday 31st October 2026! 🗓️🍂

🌧️ CHASING AWAY THOSE RAINY DAY MONDAY BLUES! ☔✨

If the miserable weather has you feeling a bit down today, we have the ultimate pick-me-up story to completely turn your Monday around! 🥰

For those of you who follow our TikTok account, you might remember a very special video we shared a while back of our baby ferrets being born. Well, we have a very special, long-awaited update on one incredibly brave little survivor! 🐾

It wasn’t an easy start for this little one. Sadly, her first-time mamma really struggled with the hang of motherhood, and this tiny kit ended up being the only survivor of the litter. Knowing she needed a miracle, our Farmer Gizelle stepped right in to save her, becoming her full-time surrogate mamma and hand-rearing her around the clock! 🍼❤️

Fast forward to today... and just look at her now! 😍 She is growing into the most wonderfully inquisitive, friendly, and absolute people-loving ferret you could ever meet.

Right now, she is living her absolute best life, but as much as she wants to help Farmer Gizelle out at work, she isn't allowed to join her in the kitchen! 🍳❌ So, Farmer Gizelle came up with the best option ever... The Barn Team Babysitters! 🥳

That’s right! This adorable little bundle will soon be visiting the farm during the day to hang out with our team. She won't be joining them in the barn straight away, but it won't be long at all! To say the barn crew is absolutely bursting with excitement to meet her and shower her with love is a massive understatement! 🥹✨

Official rest time mode: ACTIVATED!🛑💤

This is Nutmeg, one of our newest donkeys, 🐴 showing everyone exactly how we all feel after an epic Saturday! No graceful laying down here—just a total, dramatic collapse into the straw with legs in the air! 😂🌾 After a big day of meeting new friends and getting endless love, we can't blame her one bit. 💕

Nutmeg and Willow are still acclimatising to their new home, so they can't be fed our animal feed just yet while they settle in. 🙅‍♂️🥕 But don't worry—they absolutely love a good neck scratch and a rub behind their ears! 🤗✨

Big thanks to everyone who came out to make today so special. We are recharging our batteries tonight because we are back at it again tomorrow! 🚜🙌.

📣 HEADS UP! THE YORKSHIRE MARATHON IS ALMOST HERE! 📣

On Sunday 18th October, thousands of inspirational runners will be powering through the streets of York—and their route brings them right past our fence line! 🏃‍♂️💨

While we love the incredible energy and will be cheering them on at the top of our lungs, the local road closures mean the Farm will be CLOSED this Sunday 18th October. 🚜❌ Even the goats are taking a rest day!

But don't worry, the animals won't miss you for long! We will be wide awake, refreshed, and ready to welcome you back for plenty of farmyard fun on Monday 19th October from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm! 🐴❤️

Until then, there is plenty of time to visit the farm before the race weekend arrives, so come on down and say hello to the donkeys! 👋

Wait… wrong fairytale! 🐷 This isn't a little pig, but it is the cutest, bearded face you'll see all week! 😂

Look at that smile! 🥰 Our resident goat is practicing their best selfie angles before bedtime and waiting to greet you at the fence. They told us they're running dangerously low on head scratches, so we need your help to fix that over the next few days! 👋

Trying to do the daily chores is a losing battle with Callie and Calvin on shift! 🦆🌾

These two have absolutely no concept of personal space. They are the nosiest micromanagers on the planet, always demanding to be right in the middle of the action! 🧐

Honestly, if only they were actually helpful—we could really use an extra helping wing around here! Instead, their main skills include tripping up the farm team and shouting at wheelbarrows. 🚜❌ 😄

🫏✨ An update on our beautiful new girls, Nutmeg and Willow! ✨🫏

We are happy to share that our adorable new sisters are settling into The Farm perfectly! They are doing absolutely fantastic, making fast friends with everyone, and they have even started finding their voices! 🗣️❤️

Yes, they have officially started braying to welcome us in the mornings (usually demanding treats, of course!).

Since they are finding their voices, here are a few fun facts about why a donkey's bray is so special:

🎶 A Unique Voice: Just like human fingerprints, every single donkey's bray is entirely unique to them!

🌬️ The "Hee-Haw" Science: Donkeys are unique vocalists because they make sound while breathing both in and out. The "Hee" noise happens when they inhale, and the "Haw" happens when they exhale!

📢 Megaphone Mode: A donkey's bray can carry for miles in the wild to help them stay in touch with their herd across desert plains. Nutmeg and Willow are definitely making sure the whole farm can hear them!
