Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone! ☀️

I have just been for a walk along the River Ouse and York is absolutely stunning this morning. The water is completely still, the sun is already warm, birds singing I didn't want to leave.

But roast day waits for no bank holiday! Heading back now to fire up the roaster. While everyone else is having a slow morning and you absolutely should I will be filling the room with the smell of freshly roasted Kenyan coffee from Kericho.

There's honestly nowhere I would rather be.

Orders placed today will be packed and shipped first thing tomorrow. Visit our website if you fancy a bag or treat yourself to a subscription so you never run out.

However you're spending your bank holiday enjoy every minute of it. You've earned it.

Some Saturdays, Kalya Coffee is quiet. No roaster humming. No bags to pack. Just a cup of coffee and a moment to breathe.

Those quiet days are actually when I think most clearly about why I do this.

I think about the women who tended these beans long before they ever reached my roaster in York. I think about the families who will wake up to a bag of Kalya on their doormat next week.

A cup of coffee connects so many people, across so many miles.

If you are having a quiet Saturday too, enjoy it. Brew something good. You have earned it.
