📢 Important information regarding Sutton Bank

🚗 Road closure

The A170 at Sutton Bank will be closed from Sunday 13 September to Sunday 4 October for essential roadworks.

Sutton Bank National Park Centre will remain open, along with the surrounding walks and cycling routes. Please follow the signed diversion routes if you're planning to visit.

🐎 White Horse

Forestry England is planning to repaint the White Horse the week commencing 7 September, weather permitting.

As such, the Kilburn car park will be closed from Tuesday 8 September to Friday 11 September (or until the work is complete). The walking route down the steps to the car park will also be closed.

The Cleveland Way will still be open at the top of the White Horse, but visitors will not be able to follow the circular route down the side of the horse and back through the woods during the works.

Please take note of the Sutton Bank Road closure dates for annual maintenance.

❗ A170 annual closure ❗

Please be aware that this year's annual closure of the A170 at Sutton Bank is a big one. The road is scheduled to be closed from Sunday 13 September to Sunday 4 October.

We will still be open! Please follow the diversion signs and make your way up to our gorgeous National Park Centre. It's hard to say no with views like this. 😍

Our annual rush hour at the bottom of the Rigg!
Avoid 10am on Sunday if you want to leave…or alternatively head on down to watch them all pass by and offer a little donation if you can. The tractor run really is spectacular to see!

We popped down to see the bluebells in Riccal Dale today. It was a sea of blue, but I’d say we were still a bit early, I think the best is still to come! 💙💙💙

Helmsley’s little out door Gem!
-Don’t worry it is heated by summer, but opens at the shoulder seasons for all you crazy cold water swimmers out there! 😉

If you fancy a cool dip this weekend then Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool is set to reopen tomorrow. Open weekends only in April and then 5 days a week from May. 🏊‍♂️
