M&K Quality Butchers Local, family run, quality butchers. M&K Quality Butchers were established in 1970. They are a family business - run by brothers Simon and Matthew Kneafsey.

They represent everything you would expect of a classic, spotless, independent butcher, and a few things that you may have forgotten. Simon and Matthew have a smart, competent and obliging team who can always be relied upon to give a high level of quality and service. Steaks, joints and chops can all be cut at point of sale to suit your individual requirements and, like all the best butchers, they

make a variety of sausages and burgers on the premises. Cooked meats, pies and hot freshly roasted chickens are also available. They also have a successful wholesale side to their business, offering daily refrigerated delivery to local restaurants and hotels. An indication of M&K's commitment to excellence and service is shown by the recent award of the maximum possible 5 star environmental health rating. Locally, M&K is legendary for its massive, but good-humoured Christmas Eve queueing. Such is the demand for their free range turkeys, geese, duck and

other festive goodies that the queue stretches around the corner and tradition dictates that patient customers are rewarded with port and chocolates. M&K offer good old fashioned Yorkshire charm and efficiency - the kind of business where you are all on first name terms. We are looking for -

Butcher / Stocker
📍 Bishopthorpe Road, York, YO23 1JJ

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Butcher / Stocker to join our friendly team.
This is a hands-on role involving:
* Unloading deliveries
* Maintaining good stock rotation
* General cleaning
* Butchery work (knife skills preferred but not essential)

We are looking for someone who is:
* Friendly and enthusiastic
* Willing to work within a team
* Reliable and hardworking
* Smart in appearance
* Willing to learn, adapt, and get involved in all aspects of our retail & wholesale business
* Aware of food hygiene practices and standards (food hygiene training or experience is preferred)

Previous experience is helpful, especially knife skills, but full in-house training can be provided for the right person.

💷 Pay is based on experience.

🌟 This is Grant 🌟

We thought Grant deserved a special mention for being one of our happiest customers! Every third Monday morning, he comes into the shop with his mum (Cheryl) and as seen in the video, has a sing song with our team. Grant lights up every room he walks into - his laugh and smile are infectious. Everyone in the area knows Grant, he can be found having coffee in one of his favourite cafes , shopping for his favourite meat with us, or having a pint at his favourite pub ! Spending Monday mornings with Grant really is the highlight of our week, and we think he should be the highlight of yours too ♥️
