♻️ SPOT THE DIFFERENCE 🤭
On the left is a stubby glass pint bottle stamped from the 1980s and on the right, a new one from this week's doorstep delivery.
It is crazy to think that this 1980s (Associated Dairies) bottle isn’t just a vintage relic sitting on a shelf… It is still in active rotation today—over 40 years later, which means it has been collected, washed, sterilized, refilled with fresh milk and delivered to doorsteps hundreds (if not thousands) of times and it's still in pristine condition 👏🏻
So it appears that the humble glass milk bottle has quietly been setting the gold standard for sustainability for a very long time!
While the average bottle gets reused around 13 to 20 times, sturdy glass can keep going for decades without losing structural integrity or degrading.
But when this 40-year-old bottle eventually does crack or retire, the glass can be melted down and recycled 100% infinitely without any loss in quality 👌🏼
Looking at these two bottles side by side is a reminder that the ultimate sustainable packaging isn’t something complex—it’s built to last, meant to be shared and still doing its job decades later.
So here’s to the morning doorstep clink and 40+ years of reuse! ♻️❤️
