We always buy raw, pure cotton wicking for our candles 🕯️

We never buy it pre-waxed but we do always ‘pickle’ it ourselves before use 👍🏻

This involves dipping the wick in our own beeswax before it is used to create any of our candles whether rolled, poured or tea lights.

A pre-waxed wick helps with the initial lighting of the candle, reduces tunnelling and helps candles to burn more evenly.

🥰 It gives us a real sense of pride to see people walking around the markets carrying one of our labelled bags… 🛍️

One of our weekly jobs is labelling more ready for the next outings!!

After the last extraction of summer honey, any damaged frames are taken out of use and placed into our steam melter for the first phase of preparing the wax for candle making.

It goes through many stages of cleaning and filtering before it is finally poured into these usable 500g blocks.

Let the Christmas candle making commence!! 🎄
