🐎 Horse Herding Tour: After spending the warmer months on the high mountain pastures, the herd makes its way back down before winter: from Omalo, across the mountains and Abano Pass, towards the lowlands of Kakheti.

This October, experienced riders can join the journey.

Five days, around 170 km and long hours in the saddle, travelling with the herd through one of Georgia’s most dramatic landscapes.

⭐️ 🫠 🫶 We had the pleasure of staying at Lost Ridge Inn for two nights, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely immersed in nature. The peaceful surroundings, beautiful landscapes, and tranquil atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and disconnect from our London everyday life.

The food was delicious, prepared with great care and showcasing wonderful local flavors. Every meal was something to look forward to.

Most of all, the staff were exceptional. Everyone was genuinely welcoming, kind, and attentive, making us feel at home from start to finish.

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, with fantastic food and wonderful hospitality, Lost Ridge Inn is a place we couldn’t recommend more highly. We left with unforgettable memories and would love to return someday. One of the most charming parts of our stay was meeting the lovely dogs and horses around the property—they added so much character and warmth to the experience.

🍅 Our kitchen follows the garden, the season and what looks good that day.

Fresh vegetables and herbs, something always being chopped, kneaded or stirred, and plenty of tasting along the way. We cook the way we like to eat: with good produce, a little instinct and a lot of care.

Eventually, it all finds its way to the table. Plates are passed around, glasses are filled and lunch has a way of lasting a little longer than planned.

🏉 გუშინ ჩვენს მეზობელ სოფელ ნუკრიანში კიდევ ერთხელ გაიმართა „ქიზიყის ფარი“ — ყოველწლიური სარაგბო ჩემპიონატი, რომლის ისტორიაც ბევრად ადრე იწყება.

რამდენიმე წლის წინ, ჩვენმა ძვირფასმა მეგობარმა დავით გოცაძემ და სხვა გამოცდილმა მორაგბეებმა ადგილობრივ ბავშვებთან მუშაობა დაიწყეს და მათ რაგბის სიყვარული გაუზიარეს. სწორედ ამ თავდადებიდან და ზრუნვიდან დაიბადა ტრადიცია, რომელიც დღეს უკვე სხვადასხვა გუნდის, ოჯახისა და თემის გამაერთიანებელ დღესასწაულად იქცა.

Yesterday, our neighboring village of Nukriani came together once again for Kiziki’s Pari, an annual rugby championship that grew out of something much simpler & much more meaningful.

When our dear friend David Gotsadze, together with other veteran rugby players, began training local children and sharing with them their love for the game. What started as time, dedication, and care invested in young people gradually evolved into a tradition that brings together teams, families & communities from across the region.

დღე ცხენების მონაწილეობით გამართული გახსნის ცერემონიით და ადგილობრივი ანსამბლის ცეკვებით დაიწყო, შემდეგ კი მოედანი ახალგაზრდა მორაგბეებს დაეთმოთ.

ასეთი ინიციატივების მნიშვნელობა ბევრად დიდია, ვიდრე სპორტი თუ ჯანსაღი ცხოვრება. ისინი ახალგაზრდებს აძლევს შესაძლებლობას, ირწმუნონ საკუთარი ძალები, ისწავლონ გუნდურობა, შეიძინონ მეგობრები და თავი დიდი საერთო საქმის ნაწილად იგრძნონ. ამავდროულად, ეს ადამიანებს ერთმანეთთან აახლოებს და თემურ ცხოვრებას ახალ ენერგიას სძენს.

გვიხარია, რომ „ნუკრიანის ზაქების“ მხარდაჭერის შესაძლებლობა გვაქვს და ამ ლამაზი ტრადიციის მცირე ნაწილი ვართ. გილოცავთ ყველა მოთამაშეს, მწვრთნელს, მშობელსა და ორგანიზატორს, ვინც ეს დღე შექმნა და ვინც ამ ტრადიციას წლიდან წლამდე აგრძელებს. 🏉💛

The day began with horses, music, and dancing by a wonderful local ensemble before the young players took to the field. Watching them play was a reminder of how important initiatives like this are — not only for health, sport & the future, but for friendship, belonging, & community life as a whole.

We were proud to support the event, the Nukrianis Zakebi team and to be part of a day filled with energy, teamwork, and local pride. Congratulations to everyone who made it happen. 🏉💛

Adventure Tours from Lost Ridge

A full day private tour to Vashlovani — one of Georgia's most exciting protected areas and honestly one of our favourite places.

The landscape out there doesn't settle. One minute you're moving through open savanna, the next you're at the edge of Pantishara Gorge or looking up at canyon walls with swallows nesting in the rock. Yucca plantations, fossil sites, ancient formations — and if the timing is right, we might even spot gazelles, a successful conservation story playing out in the wild.

We'll stop for a tasty picnic with craft beers in nature & there's also the option to ride horses or walk with the herd to the nearby waters.

By the time we're back, late dinner with natural wines is ready and Vashlovani is still somewhere behind your eyes. We'll sleep the deep, honest sleep that only a day like this can earn.

You'll go by 4×4 with a wildlife guide or a local driver who knows the land.

Giftlada ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first time riding a horse here, and it was an amazing experience. The instructor was very kind and professional. He guided me step by step and made me feel safe throughout the ride. I was a bit nervous at first, but he helped me relax and gain confidence. I truly enjoyed my experience and would definitely recommend this place.
