Proprietà Sperino Rosa del Rosa comes from Lessona in Alto Piemonte.

Paolo and Luca De Marchi have revived an historic family estate and brought new life to Nebbiolo grown in the Alpine foothills.

Made from Nebbiolo and Vespolina, it is dry, elegant and food-friendly, with salmon-pink colour, red berries, peach, rose petal, herbs, white pepper and a beautifully bright finish.

Perfect with tomato-based dishes, grilled prawns, antipasti, roast chicken or a proper pizza night.

There’s Chianti… and then there’s Chianti made with real intention. 🇮🇹

Poggiotondo Chianti Superiore DOCG 2024 comes from Alberto Antonini’s organically farmed estate in western Tuscany, where ancient marine soils and thoughtful winemaking create a Chianti with incredible freshness, purity and balance.

Made predominantly from Sangiovese, supported by small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino, this is traditional Tuscan winemaking at its best, spontaneous fermentation, ageing in concrete and large oak casks, and absolutely no unnecessary intervention.

The result is vibrant and effortlessly drinkable, with notes of ripe cherry, dried herbs, subtle spice and that savoury Tuscan finish that keeps you coming back for another glass.

Ca’ dei Frati is one of the benchmark estates of Lugana, perched on the southern shores of Lake Garda.

Established in 1939 and now run by the Dal Cero family, the winery has built a formidable reputation for crafting wines that combine precision, regional character, and broad appeal.

Their ability to express the unique microclimate of the lake, tempered by cooling breezes and mineral-rich soils sets them apart as one of northern Italy’s most reliable and recognisable producers.

Rosa dei Frati is a beautifully poised rosé that showcases the estate’s finesse with indigenous varieties. The blend is led by Groppello, supported by Marzemino, Sangiovese, and a touch of Barbera, grapes that together create a wine of both delicacy and structure.

This is a wine with intention and depth, reflecting both tradition and a modern, gastronomic style.

In the glass, it reveals a pale salmon-pink hue, immediately inviting. Aromatically, expect a lifted bouquet of wild strawberries, white peach, rose petal, and hints of Mediterranean herbs. There’s also a subtle mineral edge, almost saline that speaks to its lake-influenced terroir.

On the palate, it is crisp and vibrant, with refreshing acidity balanced by a gentle creaminess. Flavours of red berries and citrus glide into a clean, slightly savoury finish, making it exceptionally food-friendly.

This is a rosé that works brilliantly as an aperitivo but truly shines alongside seafood, light pasta dishes, or simply enjoyed al fresco exactly the kind of versatile, top Italian rosé that continues to gain attention from those that are looking for something truly special.

Another quick and easy supper that will be on the table in 15 minutes:-

1 x pack of Benedetto Cavalieri spaghetti
1 x tub of our Nonno Nanni Ricotta
1 x tin of our Italian small cherry tomatoes, or use fresh
1 x block of our 22 month aged Parmesan
1/2 x a cup oof reserved pasta water
3 x cloves of garlic, crushed
1 x handful of basil leaves
1 x tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Method
1. Get the pasta boiling
2. Heat oil a sauté garlic and tomatoes (drained if using tinned)
3. Add ricotta, half the block of grated Parmesan, the basil and a slash of the pasta water
4. Stir until you have a thick creamy sauce
5. Stir in the spaghetti until it’s all coated.

Serve whit a huge amount of grated Parmesan and a few of the remaining basil leaves.

This was tonight’s quick and easy supper which was accompanied by a beautiful Chianti Classico from the Antinori Family.

Just 4 Ingredients, some Parmesan and a beautiful bottle of Chianti all available from the shop and can be delivered to your door ready for you to enjoy.

We love this quick and easy Tuscan sausage Pasta dish. Made with our fresh Tuscan sausages (available in traditional, chilli or fennel), some of our high quality chopped Italian tomatoes, a dollop of our fresh Italian ricotta and the best pasta from Benedetto Cavalieri.

Once cooked, combine the lot, serve with our 22 month aged Parmesan cheese and dig in.

It’s really delicious and you can thank me later!
