To garnish or not to garnish..that is the question the great bard should have asked..but he did not..so we are. How come all the Frenchies eat their pea shoots and homemade, delicate pickled onions and all us island dwellers and English visitors leave their's on the plate? We are intrigued...we used to serve sweet, plumpy Guernsey hedgerow tomatoes and cucumber, got left on the plate, we have swapped those out for tender, delicate peashoots and gently picked onions that go so well with our lush Fresh Crab, Bacon, Brie and Cranberry, fat BLTs & Guernsey Beef Burgers..so you tell us..to garnish or not to garnish? Sometimes dear Kioskers, the weather doesn't live up to our sunny expectations and instead of hanging out with friends at Saints Bay Kiosk, Portelet Kiosk, Grande Rocque Kiosk, Port Soif Kiosk, Rousse Kiosk, L'Islet Kiosk and Pembroke Kiosk..which are all amazing and delightful and fantastic.. sometimes you just have to seek shelter..and we here, at the only Kiosk at L'Ancresse can give you that with our kosey inside seating, fat pulled pork baguettes with fennel slaw, sausage rolls, fresh crab sarnies and if you are lucky today, a slab of homemade apple cake with echoes of Guernsey Gâche Melee... and a dollop of Guernsey Soft Serve 'Mr Davy'. Come and see us even when the sun refuses to shine and then go and support all our sister Kiosks when you can sit outside and enjoy their wonderful local hospitality and food. Whoopee floats, Guernsey weather, Fishing, Grand Havre & Rocquaine Regattas, Shipwrecks, Powerboat racing, Fermain boat trips, Munson's Herm Ferry (the one designed around a seagull on the sea), Richard Tostevin's Romy Rig rigged for a lateen sail, these are some of the things we celebrate and aim to revive as Guernsey men and women of the sea.. and toiling towards this aim is a group who invite you to the Fête D'la Maïr tomorrow at the Crown Pier between 10.00 and 17.00. Come down, get involved have a natter in your best Guernsey accent and bite into a pulled pork roll with fennel slaw and apple relish.. while relishing your Guernsey heritage.. Well lovely Kioskers, we are having a little raincheck today.. we have plenty of things to be getting on with to make your Kiosk experience yummy and fun this summer.. an ice cream freezer full of Fava's Gelato & Yard Farm ice cream, alongside swoodles of swirly curly Mr Davy soft servey Guernsey Dairy, a pirate raft that you can actually get on this year..just waiting for the ladder, and new tables for you to sit, eat, talk and love the view from. And this Kiosker just wants to say thank you to the lady who rightly had a word about the paucity of bacon in her roll.. Monday was not a good day, we had no Internet and this Kiosker was frazzled.. and misjudged the bacon and once it shrivelled up... it was not a good portion. We really appreciate all of your good reviews and so much appreciate a word face to face when the food is not up to your expectations.. and will always strive to do better. If this was you your next dish is on the house.. I did not offer at the time as I was making, conversely, an overloaded Seafood Platter..xx See you tomorrow Kioskers..and stay dry x

Talking about which..our Kiosk Family cooked and picked 3 Spiders all fresh for you today, as well as bbq'd a local Guernsey beef brisket to serve with hot garlic sauce...and of course you can sweeten this up with a 'Mr Davy' Guernsey soft serve ice cream..so come and say Warro and chat about your Guernsry Memories with us and all our many visitors who have such long links to Sarnia Cherie...
