There’s something special about food when it brings cultures together🌱

We had the pleasure of experiencing a thoughtful take on American soul food, reimagined with locally sourced Ghanaian ingredients.

The tasting offered a beautiful glimpse into the connection between Ghana and the United States, proving that food can travel across borders while still telling a story of where it comes from.

A celebration of creativity, culture and the possibilities that come when different food traditions meet.

We’re not over the incredible conversations, connections, and lessons from our Food Business & Legal Compliance Summit at Crescendo Foods. ✨

It was inspiring to see food entrepreneurs, business owners, and industry professionals come together to learn how to build businesses that are not only successful but legally sound.

A heartfelt thank you to renowned lawyer Nartey Law Firm Will Nartey, Esq., for generously sharing practical insights that left everyone informed and empowered.

Here’s to growing a stronger, smarter food industry, one conversation at a time.

See you at the next one.

Some journeys change the way you see food, others change the way you see history.

A month later, we’re still reflecting on our fellows’ The Lovebug Dubois LLC and Sawdayah Kaliaha visit to Assin Manso and Cape Coast Castle. Before understanding a country’s cuisine, it’s important to understand its people, their resilience, and the history that has shaped their traditions.

Food is our starting point but culture, history, and human connection are what give every meal its meaning.

👩🏾‍🌾Every experience leaves a story worth telling.

As her Plate2Plate journey came to an end, cohort fellow Sawdayah Kaliaha reflected on the people she met, the lessons she learned, and the experiences that made her time in Ghana so memorable.

Her journey is a reminder that Plate2Plate is more than a residency, it’s an opportunity to build meaningful connections, exchange knowledge, and discover new perspectives through food, agriculture, and culture.

Thought we were done with Plate2Plate content? Not yet.

One of the highlights of Plate2Plate Cohort 2 was cooking alongside Ghanaian locals where our fellows, The Lovebug Dubois LLC and Sawdayah Kaliaha learned to prepare Abom, a traditional Akan delicacy amongst others.

We’re immensely grateful to Cuisine Noir an award-winning publication celebrating Black culinary excellence, through Plate2Plate alumna V Sheree Williams

A beautiful reminder that Ghana’s food story deserves a global audience.

👩🏽‍🍳Two weeks. Countless lessons.

As Plate2Plate Cohort 2 came to an end this year’s fellow, Martise Dubose The Lovebug Dubois LLC took a moment to reflect on her experience in Ghana, from the people she met and the places she visited to the lessons she learned along the way.

Her words capture what Plate2Plate is all about: cultural exchange, meaningful connections, and learning that goes far beyond the kitchen.

Knowledge grows best when it’s shared🌱

At Crescendo Foods we believe the greatest classroom is the field. By connecting our fellows Sawdayah Kaliaha and The Lovebug Dubois LLC with Ghanaian farmers at Albert’s Haven Farms through Plate2Plate, they gained firsthand insight into indigenous farming practices, sustainable agriculture, and the deep-rooted knowledge that has nourished communities for generations.

Plate2Plate is about building meaningful connections through food, agriculture, and culture, while celebrating the expertise of the people who feed us.

Sometimes the best lessons don’t come from a classroom, they come from the land.

There’s only so much you can learn from reading about farming, the real lessons happen when you’re out in the field🌱

From July 1st to July 3rd, our fellows Sawdayah Kaliaha and The Lovebug Dubois LLC spent time at Albert’s Haven Farms with local farmers hiking to a beautiful waterfall within the farm, making planting beds and seeing how things are done firsthand. They got to experience life on the farm beyond the textbooks.

It was filled with learning, laughter, muddy boots, and a deeper appreciation for the people and processes behind every meal. That’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave.
