There are few things more rewarding than seeing young people you’ve worked with go on to excel.

Today, I’m delighted to celebrate Joshua , one of our industrial attachment students from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) who interned with us at Ekow Sam Farms Ltd last year.

Joshua is in level 400 and about to complete his BSc. Agriculture with an outstanding First Class Honours (CGPA: 3.60) and also earned a Dean’s Award for his academic excellence.

Anyone familiar with Agriculture at UCC understands the level of discipline, consistency, and hard work required to achieve this feat. The work load and volume of Bsc Agriculture in UCC will stretch you to the limits. I know it did with me and my colleagues (2007 - 2011). So this is no ordinary accomplishment.

During his time with us, Joshua demonstrated humility, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic—qualities that gave us confidence that he had a bright future ahead.

At Ekow Sam Farms, we believe internships should be more than a graduation requirement. They should be opportunities to learn, apply knowledge, build character, and prepare for meaningful careers in agriculture.

Joshua, congratulations on this well-deserved achievement. We are proud to have been a small part of your journey and look forward to seeing the impact you will make in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Your future is bright. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep raising the standard.

The beginning of the second half of the year is here.

Welcome to July.

Six months are behind us. Six more months stand before us full of opportunities, lessons, victories, and challenges we cannot yet see. Whatever the first half of the the year looked like for you, make a conscious decision to make this next half count.

As we enter this new month, the rains are still falling across Ghana. Families are grieving. Businesses, farms, homes, and livelihoods have been affected. Once again, we are reminded that life can change in an instant and that some of our greatest challenges require not only resilience, but better planning, better systems, and greater compassion for one another.

So as we say “Happy New Month,” let us also say “Stay safe.” Check on your loved ones. Be mindful of where you travel. Extend a helping hand where you can. And never take an ordinary day for granted.

July is here. The rains are still coming. The challenges are still real. But so is our capacity to endure, rebuild, and rise.
