THE LORD IS MY PORTION.
(We Will Hear Good News)
“The Lord is my portion, Therefore I hope in Him!”
Lamentations 3:24 NKJV
In biblical times, the term "portion" referred to a share of inheritance, typically land, that was granted to sons. For the ancient Israelites, this represented their future. One’s social standing was often influenced by the size of their portion. It was intertwined with their identity. Portions of land and regions were named after individuals, and whatever resources and riches the land produced became theirs.
Through Christ, we become heirs of God, receiving Him as our greatest treasure and inheritance. Acknowledging the Lord as our portion defines our identity in Him and gives us confidence in our future, both on earth and in eternity.
We have a bright hope in every situation we face. His compassion surrounds us, assuring us that we can overcome any challenge that the enemy presents.
In our main narrative, we see that because of David, who claimed God as his portion, Israel was spared from chaos and death. Just as that nation found refuge, your family and those around you will be protected from the enemy’s threats in Jesus' name.
