🌱 Agricultural Innovation for Africa Conference 2025 🌍

It was an incredible experience representing Ecosow Farms at the Agricultural Innovation for Africa (AIA) Conference, a two-day event organized by the Kosmos Innovation Center Ghana and proudly sponsored by Kosmos Energy, AGRA, Complete Farmer, Evivi Foods, and NEWAGE AGRIC SOLUTIONS LTD with strong partnership from the Food and Drugs Authority,Ghana., Ghana Standards Authority, CSIR, and the Africa Skills Hub .

This impactful conference brought together key decision-makers, subject matter experts, professionals, industry stakeholders, and value chain actors to rethink the future of agricultural innovation, youth employment, and food security in Africa.

As the Managing Director of Ecosow Farms, I had the privilege of sharing our Environmental Project — an initiative focused on promoting sustainable farming practices, environmental stewardship, and green entrepreneurship — with some of the key stakeholders and partners driving agricultural transformation across the continent. The feedback and insights received were truly inspiring.

At Ecosow Farms, we believe that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand in building resilient food systems and creating decent employment opportunities for young people.

The rate of global deforestation far outpaces reforestation efforts. Forests can be cleared in days, but restoration takes decades. This imbalance is worsened by agricultural expansion, uncontrolled grazing, logging, and environmental degradation.
At Ecosow Farms, we see reforestation not just as an environmental duty, but as an economic opportunity. Through large-scale cash crop plantations such as hybrid coconut, mango, and cashew, we aim to restore degraded lands while creating sustainable livelihoods. This approach ensures reforestation becomes profitable for farmers, communities, and investors alike.

☝🏿Protecting Our Farms, Protecting Our Future

Earlier today, I visited an elderly farmer whose hard work and dreams had been trampled literally. Stray cattle had grazed freely across his farmland, destroying young crops, including several hybrid coconut seedlings that held the promise of a better tomorrow for him and his family.

As the Managing Director of Ecosow Farms, I could not just watch this go unaddressed. We provided him with a few hybrid coconut seedlings to replace the ones lost, but the damage done is a painful reminder of an issue that affects many farmers across Ghana and West Africa.

Cattle grazing on farmlands is not just an inconvenience, it is a direct attack on livelihoods, food security, and the dignity of our farmers. Farming takes months of patience, investment, and care. One reckless act can wipe it all away in minutes.

We must all work together; farmers, herders, community leaders, and policymakers to establish clear boundaries, strengthen livestock control measures, and protect the sweat and toil of those who feed our nation.

At Ecosow Farms, we stand with every farmer whose crops have been lost to careless grazing. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and it is our collective duty to guard it.

Farming is not just a job, it is life. Let’s protect it.

Dear Young Farmers, Brothers and Sisters, Future Agricultural Leaders,

It gives me great joy not just to write to you, but to connect with you, to inspire action, and to share a powerful truth: the land beneath our feet can change our lives.

We are here on this platform not just for the sake of being here but for a movement, a movement led by young people like you, who are ready to turn challenges into opportunities, soil into success, and seeds into lasting change.

Across our communities, we know the struggles, unemployment is real, and many of our youth feel lost in the search for purpose and income. But what if I told you that the answer might not lie in chasing city jobs or waiting for handouts but right here, in the soil, in the trees, in agriculture?

Cash crops and tree crops, like cocoa, oil palm, cashew, mango, coffee, and others are not just about farming. They are about building wealth, creating jobs, and owning our future. These crops offer more than food, they offer value. A single tree, well planted and well nurtured, can provide income for years. A hectare of land can feed our families, educate our children, and even help build our home.

But let me take it one step further: you are not just farmers you are climate champions. 🌍
Every tree we plant helps fight climate change. It pulls carbon from the air, cools the environment, and restores our ecosystems. In a time when the world is calling for solutions to global warming, we are holding part of the answer in our hands.

Let me be clear: agriculture is not a fallback option. It is not for those who “had no other choice.” It is a business, a science, and a calling. The richest people in the world invest in land, so why shouldn’t you?

To every young farmer reading this article today, I want you to take with you three things:

Knowledge👉🏿so you can make smart decisions on your farm.

Confidence👉🏿so you know you are capable of greatness.

Commitment👉🏿to build not just for yourself, but for others, for the planet, and for generations to come.

In closing, let me remind you: the tree you plant today may not bear fruit tomorrow, but in a few years, it will feed you, clothe you, and lift your life to heights you never imagined.

This is your time. This is your land. This is your future.
