Light salmon-pink in colour. Beautiful aromas with hints of blackcurrant, strawberry and rose petal. Fresh, juicy with lingering acidity makes it a perfect w**e for summer meals. Enjoy!

Moya Meaker was a beauty queen. Miss South Africa 1959. That was her claim to fame, for a moment in time. But her legacy, well, that’s timeless. The w**e is a tribute to former beauty queen Moya Meaker, the mother of David’s South African-born wife, Genevieve Curl. Moya was also a mother, a wife, a friend, and a servant of the community, wherever she went. She was a force of nature, who sought beauty in the overlooked, and found joy amidst trial. Her spirit lives on through the people she strengthened. The vineyard is situated in an impressive amphitheatre formed by the Hottentots-Holland, Groenland and Kogelberg mountains in Habibi Farm, Elgin.

The La Chataigne Vineyard, on the banks of the Franschhoek river, is one of South Africa’s oldest Sémillon blocks, consisting of bush vines planted as early as 1942.
A w**e of quiet confidence, the 2024 Sémillon opens with lemon zest, apple blossom, and a dusting of white chalk, unfolding to a subtle beeswax richness. There’s a cool, stony undertone, giving the nose its crystalline edge.

From Santorini to Stellenbosch

The story of **es Assyrtiko started with a love story, when owner Gary Jordan fell in love with the variety during his wedding on Santorini. In 2019, Jordan made history by planting South Africa’s very first Assyrtiko vines!
Grown on the windy slopes of the Stellenbosch Kloof, the vines thrive in decomposed granite soils. Cool maritime breezes from False Bay mimic the grape’s coastal origins, preserving its legendary, razor-sharp acidity and distinct mineral salinity.
