Seventeen years after opening its doors, Baba Au Rum is still guided by what matters most: the desire to create and the love of its guests.
In his conversation with Esquire, Thanos Prunarous reflects on a bar that has grown into both “a bar for the world” and a distinctive landmark in central Athens—a little “Gallic village” holding on to its character as the city changes around it. International visitors have become part of its audience, but, as Thanos puts it, they are the guests who feel at home in the space.
With “House of Spirits” as its motto, Baba Au Rum has never been limited to rum. It welcomes every spirit with character and proudly supports Greek distillates and wines as part of its identity. That open-minded philosophy is where 💙Mataroa Gin💙, in its different expressions, naturally belongs.
