On the north side of Leros, lies Isichi Ambelones, the joint venture of Eyfrossyni Drossou and Ioakeim Stamatis.
Dimitris Isichos created this vineyard in 1994, and 30 years later, he handed over the baton to oenologist Eyfrossyni Drossou and economist Ioakeim Stamatis.
Together, the two of them create a modern brand that highlights the natural beauty and history of the place.
With an area of 50 acres, the vineyard spreads out amphitheatrically at the foot of Mount Kleidi, at an altitude of just 50 meters from the sea.
It is the largest single and oldest vineyard in Leros, cultivated with respect for organic farming and the principles of regenerative viticulture.
The varieties cultivated mainly include Athiri, Assyrtiko, and Mandilaria, as well as the international varieties Syrah and Merlot.
The unique terroir of the area – with its stony limestone soils and cool sea breezes – gives the wines a characteristic freshness and complexity.
The Wines are certified organic, with production limited to 5,000 bottles per year.
ISICHI AMPELONES welcome visitors for tours and wine tastings. A visit here is not only a
tasting experience, but also a journey into the world of wine, where the wine producers
share their passion for creation.
