It’s said that a good workman respects tradition, lovingly selects his ingredients and is passionate about what he creates. At the Hatzifotiou Chocolate Factory those principles lie at the core of each and every stage of production to ensure that our products allow lovers of real chocolate to enjoy an unforgettable sense of pleasure. The story started back in 1946 in Xanthi when Stelios Hatzifotio

u, a refugee from Prousa in Asia Minor, started working at a local patisserie. Even to this day it’s not really clear how the sweets that have made Hatzifotiou’s name synonymous with pleasure are made. One version of the tale goes that the recipes were bequeathed to Stelios by the owner of the patisserie as a reward for his hard work and ethos. Another says that the chocolate sweets were the result of the young patisserie chef’s attempts to perfect his creations, using top quality chocolate and hand-made pralines. It is none other than a love for the art of patisserie. Stelios Hatzifotiou made sure that he shared his love of chocolate with his children, Giorgos and Kostas, and bequeathed them his unique recipes. Today the Hatzifotiou Chocolate Factory remains loyal to the art form passed down from generation to generation, and has retained old flavours unchanged while also working in a consistent manner to create new favourite flavours for tomorrow, to allow our customers to go on a journey to pleasure that knows no end!
