A new Leadership Synergy at TÜV NORD Ελλάδας. Welcoming Chari Tioloumis alongside Vasia Kazazi

The landscape of the certification and inspection industry is entering a sophisticated new phase, and it is with great enthusiasm that we witness the formation of a dynamic leadership team at the helm of TÜV NORD Hellas.

We warmly welcome Chari Toloumis as he joins the established and highly respected co-Managing Director, Mrs. Vasiliki Kazazi, to forge a powerful new leadership duo.

This transition places a significant emphasis on Vasia’s proven expertise and leadership, now complemented by Chari’s arrival to create a unified front capable of navigating an increasingly volatile future.

The shift toward a dual-leadership model is a strategic response to the era we live in.

The sheer volume of modern global challenges ranging from the intricacies of ESG and Carbon neutrality to the rapid breakthroughs in AI, Digital Transformation, Food Security, Blockchain, the Circular Economy, and the complex Energy transition, is simply too vast for a singular approach.

By building upon the strong foundations of the German parent organization TÜV NORD GROUP and the significant legacy left by Mr. Savvas Peltekis and Mr. George John Kechribaris, this new model introduces a more collaborative and versatile method of decision-making.

We do believe that having two complementary leaders at the steering wheel is essential for addressing the intricate demands of Food Security, Energy resilience, and the Circular Economy.

At DKG Group, we are fully prepared to support this transformation, standing ready to work alongside this new leadership team as they bring innovative solutions to an ever-evolving international market.

Farewell and Thanks. Celebrating Hub Janssen’s Leadership at Grodan

Hub Janssen stepping down from his role as Managing Director of Grodan is more than a leadership transition. It marks the closing of a significant chapter that shaped not only the company’s trajectory, but also the way modern horticulture is understood and practiced.

Having been connected with Grodan since 1993, as customers, employees, partners, or dealers of its products, we have had the privilege of witnessing how two leaders left a lasting imprint on the organization. The first was Jack De Jonge (1995–2005). Long before the term “talent management” became common, he had already recognized the strategic importance of People. He understood that sustainable growth begins with investing in human talent, at a time when people management had not yet gained its current prominence.

The second leader is Hub Janssen (2012-2026). His contribution was different, yet equally transformative.
Hub understood that greenhouse hydroponics belong to the food sector rather than the traditional agriculture sector.

He also clearly recognized that premium products, such as Grodan slabs and blocks, require premium advisory services, not occasionally, but continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

He realized early on that this level of support could only be achieved through technology, by leveraging the Internet of Things, data, and ultimately artificial intelligence.

At a time when many still perceived horticulture as an industry concerned solely with plants, Hub Janssen saw something broader and far more powerful.

He understood that the future of horticulture food chain lies in the integration of PTA (People, Technology, and AI). Because true leadership means being able to look at least a decade ahead. And that is exactly what Hub did.

Although he initially believed that Grodan could achieve this on its own, he soon recognized that real progress requires collaboration, including partnerships with other companies across the value chain. In the end, if you want to remain relevant tomorrow, you must build ECOSYSTEMS rather than simply protect market share.

We had the opportunity to fully appreciate this holistic mindset through an in-depth interview Hub gave to Christos D. Katsanos, our co-founder and Executive Director, in October 2025, where his strategic thinking, values, and long-term vision for the sector were clearly articulated.
( you can listen the full episode here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcuHhXWqdTk )

We are confident that leaders such as Hub Janssen, Savvas Peltekis, George John Kechribaris, George Pontikas, and others will continue to serve the food and horticulture sector, carrying with them decades of experience that remain invaluable to the industry.

Hub, congratulations on a long and meaningful career. The best is yet to come!

George Pontikas - FAREWELL to a TRUE LEADER
For over three decades, George Pontikas has stood at the helm of Syngenta Hellas, guiding not just a company, but an entire sector through moments of challenge, innovation, and transformation. As he steps into retirement on December 31, 2025, we at DKG Group reflect on a career defined by leadership in its most authentic form, a blend of vision, courage, and unwavering integrity.

George’s leadership was never just about market share or profits. He understood that change begins from within, shaping culture, inspiring teams, and setting a tone of ethics that resonated far beyond boardrooms. Under his guidance, Syngenta Hellas did not merely follow trends, it set them, acting as a true leader of the agricultural sector in Greece.

In many ways, George lived the meaning behind the Syngenta Group name. “Syn” stands for synergy, and he was a master at creating connections between colleagues, between the company and its farmers, and between the industry and the wider community. “Genta” evokes genes and agriculture, and he led with a deep understanding of crops, science, and the value of every Greek farmer, no matter how small. His leadership turned the abstract principles of Syngenta into reality, showing that synergy in agriculture and biotechnology is not just a concept, but a way of working, thinking, and leading.

His voice has always carried weight, not only for its clarity and insight but for its courage. In forums and councils, whether in the Hellenic Crop Protection Association Ελληνικός Σύνδεσμος Φυτοπροστασίας - ΕΣΥΦ or industry debates, George’s opinions were marked by thoughtful conviction and loyalty to both his principles and his company.

In an age where commitment is increasingly rare, his LOYALTY to Syngenta and to the broader mission of supporting Greek agriculture has been exceptional.

George’s understanding of the Greek farmer, from the smallest producer to the largest, was never abstract. Every interaction revealed a deep respect for the individual behind the work, recognizing that the health of the countryside, the quality of food, and the sustainability of communities are inseparable. His voice consistently reminded the sector that agricultural production is not just a business, it is a lifeline connecting land, people, and nourishment.

The agricultural inputs sector and advisory services owe a great deal to his vision. Through his relentless dedication, the industry has grown stronger, more ethical, and more connected to the communities it serves.

George Pontikas has left an indelible mark, a legacy of ethics, courage, loyalty, and insight that will inspire leaders for generations to come.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable career, it is not just the milestones that we celebrate, but the spirit of leadership that George embodied, a leadership that transformed organizations, elevated a sector, and honored the people at its heart.

Thank you, Giorgo, for your inspiration and keep living life to the fullest!

A Proud Moment for Greek Entrepreneurship and a Wake-Up Call to Think Bigger

Yesterday, something truly remarkable happened:
Metlen Energy & Metals made its debut on the London Stock Exchange, becoming the first Greek company to achieve a primary listing in euros on one of the world’s most important financial markets.

This isn’t just a personal win for METLEN or its leadership team. It’s a win for Greek entrepreneurship as a whole. It proves that a company born and built in Greece can grow, evolve, and confidently take its place on the global stage.

We often hear that Greek companies should "go global" but METLEN just showed us what that actually looks like. Not in theory, but in action.

Their journey, from local roots to a presence in 42 countries, and now to the LSE sends a clear message:

If we dare to think beyond borders, we can achieve far more than we believe.

Congratulations to Evangelos Mytilineos and the entire METLEN team. This is more than a milestone. It’s a shift in mindset. And we hope it inspires more businesses in Greece to raise their sights, believe in their potential, and act with the kind of boldness we just witnessed.
