This November, we are so excited to partner with EL BARRO VUELVE for a collaborative natural building / kiln-construction workshop! Together we will get muddy, learn how to work with natural materials, and construct a wood-burning kiln that will be used to fire ceramics. Join us!

📆Nov 12-15, 2026
📍Lanquin, Guatemala

It’s an opportunity to connect with the land and culture of Lanquin while learning a new lifelong skill.

We’ll be harvesting clay from the land to build the kiln, and then this workshop will be followed by another one focused on hand-building ceramics. Sign up for both courses and receive 15% off!

This kiln will be planted at our community center and will catalyze an initiative to teach and empower local women to make hand-built ceramics like mugs for cacao, copaleros and other sculptures, offering a creative outlet for the community and an additional stream of income.

For more info, head to awanimalanquin.com/ceramics-workshop, or comment “kiln” and we’ll send you the invite directly!

Spots are limited, so reach out soon if you want to secure your space!

We are so honored to be a part of the Ma Earth collective fundraising campaign!

We need your help! We’re raising funds and awareness to:

1. Expand the nursery to start thousands of native plants for the families in the cooperative to reforest their parcels, creating food security, income security, and biodiversity. 🌱

2. Launch an educational campaign with local schools to teach kids to care for the waters and prevent contamination of the rivers, and install a net in the river to collect trash. 🌊

Both initiatives are to help support the flourishing of the lands and people of the Q’eqchi community in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala.

How you can help:

Share the campaign to help us reach more people

Donate to the fundraiser - even just a few dollars goes a long way!
