Thrilled to share that we will be taking over the Pool Room kitchen at Soho House Hong Kong for a three-day pop-up, cooking a very special menu for their members and guests next weekend (24-26 Feb).

We hope our food will entice guests to long for jungle travel - something we’ve been waiting a very long time to do again. 4x4 trucks in the Borneo rainforest, roasting meats over an open fire, and cooling off with one too many cans of beers… It’s an experience you will never forget & we’re so happy to be able to share some of our personal stories with Soho House soon.

Lunch tables are fully booked BUT takeaway & walk-ins are always welcome at Uncle Ching. Waiting time is usually 10-15min. We appreciate those who decide to wait 💘

Hence... We will stay open all day for you to experience our dinner mood one last time.

Closure notice:
Hello friends, we are in the final days of Uncle Ching on 21 Amoy Street and will have our last service this weekend 🥺

There are many obstacles when trying to keep things authentic but with a prolonged series of limitation in HK, and as a small family owned business, comes the difficult decision to close our restaurant permanently on Saturday 14th Jan, 2023.

Our mission since day 1 was to promote Sarawak food and culture in Hong Kong via a very personal approach, and it’s been sooo nice to see how many of you resonated with our family recipes whether you are Malaysian or not. Never did we imagine getting this far 🥹

We hope to continue working towards that mission in a different time and space, but for now would like to say thank you to our amazing team and to all customers who ate & laughed with us along the way 🥰

PS. still taking lunch bookings from 12-4pm. Until Saturday 🇲🇾❤️‍🔥🍧🤝

When we first started the Instagram we put a lot of thought into using the platform to share our home recipes and culture from Sarawak, Borneo, in East Malaysia. It’s been a year since we opened our doors in Wan Chai (!!!) but realised we’ve been so occupied with operating the restaurant that we’ve forgotten to share more about us!

Mamma and I have been working on some new dishes that represent our personalities and IBAN indigenous heritage and we can’t wait to share them with you.

We’ll be dropping dishes every week until our NEW dinner sharing menu is complete and we hope you’ll come experience /appreciate /inquire the warmth of our cultural hospitality as much as you enjoy our food.
