Club Qing operates an independent bottling business as well as a whisky bar in Hong Kong. Since its establishment in 2015, Club Qing has been an advocate of whiskies in the region. 【⭐️ I Do What I Like No.2 ⭐️】
Released by Club Qing in 2026, I Do What I Like is a brand-new series created in collaboration with local feline artist kt518 (Katy Ku) and inspired by the ultimate icons of independence: cats. The paintings capture delightfully rebellious moments of feline defiance where instinct overrides instruction, celebrating how cats do exactly what they please and persist in doing what they love, entirely indifferent to whether others approve or agree. This playful philosophy reminds us to filter out the noise of a world crowded with opinions and rigid rules, trusting our own judgment without arguing or seeking validation.

In the world of wh**ky, this independent spirit directly mirrors Club Qing’s core philosophy of selecting casks based purely on personal intuition and palate rather than market trends. Every decision—whether to let a wh**ky mature further, re-cask, or bottle—is guided solely by experience, intuition, and the simple, uncompromising joy of doing what we love.

I Do What I Like #2 – Glen Garioch 15 Years Old
A distillate driven Glen Garioch matured entirely in refill hogshead. Nose starts with mineral, linseed oil, pine needle, white flower, green bananas, chicken consomme and mild ash. The palate is sweet, with sugar cane juice, ripe grapefruits, pineapples, black pepper, very clean with mineral texture. The finish is long; on stone fruits and cold ash.

I Do What I Like #1 – Secret Highland 32 Years Old

A well aged single malt from a secret Highland distillery. Matured in a first fill Oloroso quarter cask, this wh**ky displays a character dominated by the cask. On the nose, Dried apricots, Chen-pei, liquorice, fish sauce, old cognac, bonfire and chinese medicine. Palate starts off sweet, with dark chocolate, dried dates, ripe oranges, sweet spices and hawthorn cake. Finish is medium, on dark chocolates.

A brand new series released by Club Qing in 2026 – Monochrome Essence. This series explores form through removal rather than addition. Each painting is reduced to its most essential lines, allowing presence to emerge without distraction. By limiting gesture and detail, the work invites quiet observation and reflection. What remains is not a representation, but an impression, a moment where shape, space, and restraint meet in balance.

In wh**ky, essence is not created. It is revealed.
• During maturation, spirit loses volume to evaporation and interaction with wood.
• What disappears is not waste, but part of the process.
• Over time, the wh**ky becomes more itself, not more complicated.
Monochrome Essence reflects the idea that maturation is a process of loss leading to definition. The final wh**ky is what remains after time, wood, and patience have removed what is unnecessary.

Monochrome Essence #2 – Aultmore 14 Years Old
A classic, bare‑bones Aultmore in its purest form. Matured in a refill bourbon barrel, the wood acts as a neutral vessel, allowing the liquid to mature slowly without imparting excessive influence. Sweet corn, citrus, maltose, herbs, chicken broth and camphor integrate well into the wh**ky’s essence.

Monochrome Essence #1 – Highland Blended Malt 12 Years Old
An expression created by carefully vatting two second‑fill PX sherry quarter casks. The casks were deliberately matured to enhance the angel’s share and achieve a very rounded texture. This blended malt was ranked #1 by our tasting panel in a blind tasting of ten samples. Nose is gentle, with cream, grapefruits, papayas and green mangoes. The palete is rather sweet, with ripe fruits and honey with a medium finish on citrus fruits and milk chocolate.

Club Qing will continue to focus on independent bottling, while CQ is where the wh**ky finds its place.

OMG the aroma when we cracked open this bottle 😍😍😍

The Kawasaki Distillery is so mysterious that most people don’t even know it existed. Sources disagree on its founding: some claim 1937, while others say the 1940s. Kawasaki only distilled its own grain wh**ky beginning in 1969. It belonged to the Sanraku Group (三楽), and all of its output was used for Japanese blended whiskies such as Ocean Wh**ky. The distillery stopped production in 1987, but the exact date of its closure is unclear. No single-grain bottlings were released during its active years. Later, Ichiro Akuto acquired certain casks from the distillery’s long-lost stocks, and so far only eight single casks have been released. This is undoubtedly one of the rarest Japanese whiskies and possibly the best single-grain wh**ky ever produced.
