🍷 Edouard Delaunay Wine Dinner at Pang’s Kitchen Galaxy Macau
.kitchen
An extraordinary evening where Burgundy’s finest terroirs met the heritage of traditional Shunde gastronomy. We recently co-hosted an exclusive wine dinner at Pang’s Kitchen in Galaxy Macau, showcasing six exceptional allocations from historic Burgundy house Maison Edouard Delaunay.
The evening was hosted alongside Olivier Hui-Bon-Hoa, Asia Regional Director for Edouard Delaunay, and Adam Pang of Pang’s Kitchen. Olivier walked guests through the remarkable revival of this century-old maison—spearheaded in 2017 by fifth-generation winemaker Laurent Delaunay. Amassing over 700 international awards, the house reached new heights when its Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru was selected for French President Emmanuel Macron’s state banquet at the Élysée Palace in honor of President Xi Jinping in May 2024.
Throughout the feast, French winemaking met Shunde culinary craftsmanship in seamless harmony. Handcrafted deep-fried mantis shrimp, soy-sauce pigeon legs, and crispy crab puff paired effortlessly with Meursault 2022 and Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2020, while Sweet & Sour Iberico Pork found its match in the lifted red fruit of Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Aux Combottes' 2022.
The evening reached its peak as Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2022 elevated deep-fried snakehead fish, leading into the rare Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2018 poured alongside braised hairy gourd and abalone lotus leaf rice. The vibrant energy filled the room as fine Burgundy effortlessly elevated classic Cantonese flavors.
Our thanks to Olivier Hui-Bon-Hoa, the Pang’s Kitchen team, and all guests who joined us at Galaxy Macau.
