Hampden Fifteen is Hampden Estate’s oldest permanent expression, a 15‑year tropically aged pure single Jamaican rum from the LROK mark, matured in ex‑bourbon barrels and bottled at 50%, concentrating the distillery’s high‑ester pot‑still character into a rich yet refined profile of citrus oils, marmalade, macerated mango and guava, candied ginger, cocoa and almond over an oily, oxidative backbone, finishing long and silky with tannic oak, liquorice, tropical fruit and the distinctive medicinal funk that defines Hampden’s house style.

Malternative Belgium Lot 69 “Ma Cerise” is a 1969‑distilled, 55‑year‑old single‑cask Petite Champagne cognac from a small bouilleur de cru in Réaux‑sur‑Trèfle, bottled in 2025 at 50.3% ABV, showing an oily, full body and an intense yet balanced attack, with a nose of syrupy red and dark fruits (cherry, red plum, dried apricot, raisins), caramel, stewed pear and blood orange, and a palate packed with dark berries, liquorice, quince, honey, leather, clove, dark chocolate, espresso and dark caramel, leading into a long, warming finish where cherry, cocoa, spice and gentle rancio‑edged dried fruit oscillate between lively fruitiness and more contemplative oak and tea‑like notes in the glass.

Hampden Great House 2023 is a limited “distillery edition” Jamaican rum from Hampden Estate, a high-ester pot‑still blend (mainly LROK 2021 and HLCF 2016) tropically aged in ex‑bourbon and bottled at 57%, showing intense funky aromas of overripe tropical fruit, olive‑brine and varnish alongside cane, spice and mineral notes, with a powerful, oily palate and very long, warm finish designed for serious sipping.

Millstone is the whisky from family-owned Zuidam Distillers in the Netherlands, where everything is done with a very old‑school mindset: slow distillation, small traditional mills for the grain, and a strong focus on cask character. The climate and cask management there give their spirit a dense, almost “concentrated” profile that works beautifully with sherry wood.

Blackadder’s Raw Cask series then takes that character and presents it with almost no interference – natural colour, no chill filtration, bottled straight from individual casks, often with a bit of cask sediment left in the bottle. It’s a style that feels closer to tasting from the warehouse than a polished commercial release.

In this line‑up you get three lenses on that same Millstone DNA: classic Oloroso richness, syrupy PX depth, and heavily peated spirit tempered by a refill PX hogshead. Same distillery, same bottler, but three very different stories in the glass.

Distilled in March 1993 and bottled in September 2022, this Speyside single malt was rescued from the blending process by Blackadder. The whisky is presented at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or added coloring, preserving the authentic character developed over 29 years in cask #960961. As a single cask release, this represents a unique expression that cannot be replicated, making it particularly appealing to collectors and enthusiasts seeking exceptional long-aged Speyside malts. Blackadder Raw Cask Statement Bowmore 27-year-old (1996–2024) is an Islay single cask hogshead that shows Bowmore in a fully coastal, elegant mode, with gentle, aged smoke wrapped around citrus, vanilla and polished oak, plus a saline sea-breeze note and likely some soft tropical or stone fruits from the long 27-year maturation, giving a supple, layered texture while still delivering the Raw Cask “from-the-barrel” character collectors look for. Only 96 bottles produced.

Tamnavulin is a Speyside distillery founded in 1966, known historically as a quiet “workhorse” producer for blends, but in recent years it has built a reputation among enthusiasts for soft, approachable single malts that lean heavily into orchard and stone fruits, gentle malt sweetness, and easy-drinking profiles rather than peat or heavy sherry influence. The Living Souls Tamnavulin 10-year-old Ex-Chianti Wine Casks bottling takes that naturally fruity Tamnavulin character and layers on an extended finish in Chianti red wine casks, giving a nose full of strawberries, cherries and soft red berries, a palate that combines sweet, malty Speyside notes with wine-driven fruit and a light tannic grip, and a medium finish where the red fruits and subtle vinous dryness linger without becoming overly oaky or bitter.

Fully matured in first‑fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 46.5% ABV, this 18-year-old single malt puts Speyburn’s fruity Speyside character firmly in the spotlight. Creamy waves of banana mousse and stewed pear roll in first, followed by layers of honeycomb, vanilla fudge and milk chocolate for an indulgent, dessert-like sweetness. Given a few minutes in the glass, subtle citrus oils and fresh oak emerge, adding lift and balance to the rich, dessert tones. The palate stays soft and approachable, with gentle spice and toasted oak leading into a mellow, lingering finish where ripe orchard fruit and sweet vanilla slowly fade. Blackadder’s Sherry Snake series is a sherry‑cask‑focused offshoot of the Raw Cask philosophy, bottling unnamed single malts from Scottish distilleries at cask strength with no chill‑filtration or colouring, often leaving visible cask sediment to underline the “cask is king” ethos and delivering dense, full‑bodied, syrupy sherry profiles packed with dried fruits, spice, and rich oak. The SS2024‑04 release continues this approach, and comes from a first‑fill sherry butt single malt from an undisclosed distillery, bottled in July 2024 at 57.3% ABV in a limited run of around 518 bottles, offering notes of worn leather, plum compote, toasted hazelnuts, rich fruitcake, dark chocolate and espresso over a long, dry, cinnamon‑laced finish.
