🫒🍷🧀 Eight Polish doctors. One hen party. Two Dalmatia tours. A lovely day 🇵🇱🇭🇷

This week we had the pleasure of hosting 8 brilliant Polish doctors celebrating a hen party in Croatia. They joined us for our Croatia in a Day tour and our Olive Oil, Wine & Cheese Tasting experience.

Between award-winning olive oil, local wines, delicious Dalmatian cheese, spectacular views and a healthy dose of hen-party energy, it was difficult to tell who was having more fun – the guests or the guides! 😄

Another day in Zagreb, another celebration 🇭🇷
Sunday’s procession was part of Zagreb City Day, when the city honours its patron — Our Lady of the Stone Gate. The image is carried through the centre of the city to the historic Stone Gate, a tradition dating back centuries.
It’s a beautiful reminder of how much history and tradition is woven into everyday life here — hardly a day goes by without some kind of national, cultural, or religious celebration taking place somewhere in Croatia.

🇭🇷 A rather surreal Saturday in Zagreb...
What started as a peaceful picnic by the lake turned into something altogether different.

We were sat with Ukrainian friends enjoying the sunshine when suddenly amphibious military vehicles emerged from the water, parachutists began dropping from the sky, helicopters started circling overhead and fighter aircraft put on an impressive display.
Meanwhile, we were all calmly eating lunch and waiting for the tanks to arrive. 😄

For many people it's an exciting international military exhibition featuring Croatian, Italian, American, Hungarian, Slovenian and Austrian forces. Very impressive indeed.

For our Ukrainian friends, however, the experience is rather different. One explained that panic attacks caused by the war were among the reasons she left Ukraine. The sounds and sights that many of us see as entertainment can bring back very different memories.

It's a reminder of how differently people can experience exactly the same event.
The helicopters continued overhead, the tanks were apparently still on their way, and we all concluded that this was the most unusual picnic we've ever attended.

Life can be strange sometimes.

Today, Vesna and Karin were delighted to showcase Croatian olive oil as part of Europe Day celebrations for Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Government officials in London. The objective of Europe Day is to celebrate peace, unity, and cooperation among European countries, especially within the framework of the European Union and it marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
