After a month of training, our young boys are ready to head back home. 🐴

They have learned a lot, completed their first trail rides, and proved themselves to be real little gentlemen. We are proud of their progress and wish them many wonderful adventures with their people. ❤️

It is worth mentioning that progress like this usually takes longer. These boys arrived with a solid foundation and were at the perfect stage of mental maturity to embrace new experiences and training. Their attitude and willingness to learn made this journey a pleasure.

Nakon mjesec dana treninga, naši mladi dečki spremni su za povratak kući. 🐴

Puno su naučili, odradili prve terene i pokazali da su pravi mali frajeri. Ponosni smo na njihov napredak i želimo im puno lijepih avantura s njihovim ljudima. ❤️

Vrijedi spomenuti da ovakav napredak obično zahtijeva više vremena. Ovi dečki stigli su s dobrom podlogom, a bili su i u savršenoj fazi mentalnog sazrijevanja za prihvaćanje novih iskustava i treninga. Njihov karakter, stav i volja za učenjem učinili su cijeli proces posebno ugodnim i uspješnim.

This time of year the garden reaches the stage where I spend half my time growing food and the other half trying to remember where I planted it.
The potatoes have completely taken over, the peas and broad beans are doing their thing, and somewhere under all that green there are probably a few more vegetables waiting to surprise me.
The beds are no-dig, heavily mulched, and a little wilder than most people would like. But with summer droughts becoming the norm, I'd rather have living ground cover than bare soil.
It may look chaotic, but the plants seem to love it.
Now if only they came with labels🫣😜

Došlo je ono doba godine kad vrt izgleda fantastično, a ja nemam pojma gdje je pola stvari koje sam posadila.

Krumpir raste kao lud, bob i grašak su sretni, korov ostaje gdje ne smeta, a malč i miješana sadnja očito rade svoj posao.

Nije baš uredno, ali je zeleno, živo i prepuno hrane.

🎂 Asgard turned 12 yesterday!

We had big plans. Frozen fruit popsicles hanging from the trees, happy horses, perfect birthday photos...

But no...😅The popsicles melted before we could hang them, ended up in a bucket, and the horses were politely unimpressed. Arabelle was the only one showing true birthday spirit and wearing the party hat, and Kan managed to wear a for approximately three seconds, which we consider a huge success.

Still, there were treats, sunshine, friends, and a very good birthday girl.

Happy 12th birthday, Asgard! ❤️🐴

🎂 Jučer je naša cura na pansionu, Asgard proslavila 12. rođendan!

Imali smo velike planove. Zaleđene voćne popsicle poslastice koje vise s drveta, oduševljeni konji i savršene rođendanske fotografije...

Ali ne..😅Popsicles su se otopili prije nego što smo ih uspjeli objesiti, završili su u kanti, a konji baš i nisu bili impresionirani. Arabelle je jedina bila u pravom rodendanskom raspolozenju I nosila party kapicu, dok je Kan uspio nositi ok 3 sekunde, što smatramo velikim uspjehom.

Ali bilo je poslastica, sunca, društva i jednog vrlo sretnu slavljenicu.

Sretan 12. rođendan, Asgard! ❤️🐴

Farm update: our dogs got themselves a dog. 🤦‍♀️🐶
Seriously.
We have livestock guardians, working dogs, herding dogs and athletes... and somehow they decided what this farm really needed was one small scruffy terrier.
One day he appeared out on the meadow, and before we knew it, our dogs escorted him straight into the yard. As if they were saying, "We found another one. Can he stay?"
That's how Floki became a temporary member of the pack.
Floki is a lovely, gentle little dog. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, but he's very afraid of people and will need patience and time to learn that humans can be kind.
His sad eyes suggest life hasn't always treated him well. We'd love to find him a home where he can finally feel safe, loved and truly belong.

Farm update: naši psi su si nabavili psa. 🤦‍♀️🐶
Ozbiljno.
Imamo čuvare stada, radne pse, pastire, sportaše... i nekako su zaključili da nam nedostaje jedan mali čupavi terijer.
Jednog dana pojavio se na livadi, a već sljedećeg naši su ga psi dopratili ravno u dvorište. Kao da su rekli: "Evo, našli smo još jednog. Može ostati?"
Tako je Floki postao privremeni član ekipe.
Floki je divan, nježan i dobar psić. Odlično se slaže s drugim psima, ali se jako boji ljudi pa će trebati strpljenja i malo vremena da nauči vjerovati.
Njegove tužne okice govore da život prema njemu nije uvijek bio nježan. Mi mu sada želimo pronaći dom u kojem će konačno biti siguran, voljen i svoj.

Farm update: Boys in Training 🐴

Ova dva dečka su kod nas već dva tjedna na ujahivanju i napredak je zaista odličan. Sa svojih 4 i 5 godina dovoljno su zreli da im je glava na pravom mjestu, a svaki dan pokazuju sve više samopouzdanja i želje za učenjem.

Njihova budućnost je u terenskom jahanju (hacking), pa puno pažnje posvećujemo stvaranju mirnih, sigurnih i pouzdanih partnera za istraživanje staza i prirode.

Veliko priznanje ide i njihovoj vlasnici, koja je odradila izvrstan posao u pripremi mladih konja prije dolaska kod nas. Dobra podloga uvijek se vidi, a s ovakvim početkom sve ide puno lakše.

Veselimo se pratiti njihov daljnji razvoj! 🤎

These two boys have been with us for two weeks now, and they are progressing beautifully. At 4 and 5 years old, they are mature enough to have a great mindset while still being eager to learn and gain new experiences every day.

Their future lies in hacking and trail riding, so our focus is on building calm, confident, and reliable partners who will enjoy exploring the countryside with their riders.

A special mention goes to their owner, who has done an excellent job laying a solid foundation before they arrived. Good groundwork always shows, and it makes the training process so much smoother.

We are excited to see how these two continue to develop over the coming weeks! 🤎

🌿 FARM UPDATE | FORAGING 🌿

Foraging is on a whole different level at this time of year. Everywhere we look there’s something ready to harvest – plantain, ajuga, elderflower, wild mint, mullein, hawthorn, meadowsweet and many more.

Some will become teas, some tinctures, some skincare products, and some will be dried for winter use.

I still can't quite believe how much food and medicine is literally just a step outside the door. The meadows around us are full of useful plants, and we're trying to make the most of the season while everything is growing so abundantly.

Branje samoniklog bilja u ovo doba godine stvarno je na nekoj drugoj razini. Gdje god pogledamo, nešto je spremno za berbu – trputac, ajuga, bazgin cvijet, divlja metvica, divizma, glog, končara i još mnogo toga.

Dio će završiti kao čaj, dio kao tinktura, dio u prirodnoj kozmetici, a dio ćemo osušiti za zimu.

Još uvijek mi je teško povjerovati koliko se hrane i lijekova nalazi doslovno korak od naših vrata. Livade oko nas pune su korisnih biljaka i trudimo se iskoristiti sezonu dok je sve u punom rastu.

🌿 Farm Update 🌿

While the rest of our cows are busy working on their natural landscaping duties and helping us maintain the pastures, Mali and Kristof have other priorities.

Their days are filled with running, jumping, and enjoying the freedom of the meadow. To be honest, there were moments when we couldn't imagine Kristof racing around on his little legs like this. After everything he has been through, seeing him run and play never gets old.

Recently, we moved two more cow-and-calf pairs into their pasture. The mothers needed a little extra support and better grazing after calving, and Kristof was more than happy with the new company.

Now we get to watch him chase the other calves, play, explore, and simply enjoy being a calf. Seeing him happy, healthy, and full of energy is a reminder of why all the hard work is worth it.

Sometimes the smallest victories bring the greatest joy. ❤️

Dok naše krave ovih dana vrijedno rade na prirodnom "landscape projektu" i pomažu nam održavati pašnjake, Mali i Kristof imaju sasvim drugačije planove.

Njih dvoje dane provode trčeći, skačući i uživajući na livadi. Iskreno, bilo je trenutaka kada nismo bili sigurni hoćemo li ikada gledati Kristofa kako bezbrižno juri svojim malim nogicama. Nakon svega što je prošao, ovaj prizor nam svaki put izmami osmijeh.

Nedavno smo im pridružili još dvije mame s telićima kojima je nakon poroda trebalo malo dodatne pažnje i bolje paše. A Kristof? On je odmah pronašao društvo. Sada ga možemo gledati kako se igra s drugim telićima, istražuje livadu i uživa u svakom novom danu.

Ponekad su upravo ovakvi mali trenuci najveća nagrada za sav trud. ❤️
