Le Troquet, here, is over.
After several months of discussions, proposals, and attempts to build a viable solution — and despite the support of a large part of the French community, our elected representatives, many associations, and numerous actors of the French-speaking world and Franco-Hungarian cooperation — the decision of the new management of the French Institute of Hungary is clear: our presence, as it existed until now, is no longer desired.
Concretely, this means one simple thing:
Le Troquet in the spaces you know on the ground floor of the French Institute of Hungary is coming to an end.
On our side, we will take the time to process this, to reflect, and to build what comes next. A call for proposals has been launched by the French Institute of Hungary for a different type of project in the glass-roofed space. We will respond to it, but without putting ourselves at economic risk, as the proposed conditions, based on our experience, seem difficult.
It was a lively meeting place, a simple and open space where students, families, local residents, artists, entrepreneurs, journalists, teachers — French or Hungarian, francophone or simply francophile — would cross paths. A place to work, talk, debate, have a coffee or a glass of wine, and reconnect with a certain French art de vivre, without pretension.
Over the past years, a real economic and social ecosystem grew around us: artisans, large companies, producers, associations, cultural and community events. Our team of 14 welcomed associative gatherings, institutional events, and cultural and economic collaborations, and served as a daily anchor point for many people. It made sense because it created connections, because it was accessible, because it was alive — quite simply. And for that, a huge thank you. This success is also yours.
Thank you to everyone who brought this place to life over the years: regulars, neighbors, artists, associations, clients, partners, team members, former team members, friends. You gave this place a true soul.
Before turning the page, we have also planned a week of significant promotions to clear part of our stock. More information will be shared on our social networks.

Le Troquet, ici, c’est fini.
Après plusieurs mois de discussions, de propositions et de tentatives pour construire une solution viable, et malgré le soutien d’une grande partie de la communauté française, de nos élus, de plein d’associations et d’acteurs de la francophonie et des coopérations franco-hongroise, la décision de la nouvelle direction de l’Institut Français de Hongrie est claire : notre présence telle qu’elle existait jusqu’à aujourd’hui n’est plus souhaitée.
Concrètement, cela signifie une chose simple :�le Troquet dans les espaces que vous connaissez au rez-de-chaussée de l’Institut Français de Hongrie, c’est terminé. De notre côté, nous allons prendre le temps de digérer, de réfléchir, et de construire la suite. Un appel d'offres a été lancé par l’Institut Français de Hongrie pour un autre type de projet dans la verrière. Nous allons y répondre mais sans nous mettre en danger économiquement car les conditions proposées, d’après notre expérience, nous semblent difficiles.
C’était un lieu de rencontre vivant, un espace simple et ouvert où se croisaient étudiants, familles, habitants du quartier, artistes, entrepreneurs, journalistes, profs, français ou hongrois francophones ou juste francophiles. Un endroit où l’on venait travailler, discuter, débattre, boire un café ou un verre de vin et retrouver un peu d’art de vivre à la française, sans chichi.
Ces dernières années, un véritable écosystème économique et social s’était construit autour de nous : artisans, grandes entreprises, producteurs, associations, événements culturels et communautaires. Nos équipes, au nombre de 14, ont accueilli des rencontres associatives, des événements institutionnels, des collaborations culturelles et économiques, et ont servi de point d’ancrage quotidien pour de nombreuses personnes. Il faisait sens parce qu’il créait du lien, parce qu’il était accessible, parce qu’il vivait, tout simplement, et pour cela, un grand merci. Car ce succès, c’est aussi le vôtre !
Merci à toutes celles et ceux qui ont fait vivre ce lieu pendant ces années : habitués, voisins, artistes, associations, clients, partenaires, équipe, anciens membres de l'équipe, amis. Vous avez donné une vraie âme à cet endroit.

Le Troquet – itt vége.
Több hónapnyi egyeztetés, javaslattétel és egy életképes megoldás kialakítására tett kísérlet után, és annak ellenére, hogy a francia közösség jelentős része, választott képviselőink, számos egyesület, valamint a frankofónia és a francia–magyar együttműködések sok szereplője is támogatott bennünket – a Magyarországi Francia Intézet új vezetésének döntése egyértelmű: a jelenlétünk abban a formában, ahogyan eddig létezett, többé nem kívánatos.
Konkrétan ez egy egyszerű dolgot jelent:�a Le Troquet a Francia Intézet földszintjén található, számotokra jól ismert tereiben bezár. A részünkről most időt szánunk arra, hogy feldolgozzuk a történteket, átgondoljuk a helyzetet, és felépítsük a folytatást.
A Magyarországi Francia Intézet pályázatot írt ki ezeknek a tereknek egy más jellegű projektjére. Erre mi is beadjuk a jelentkezésünket, de úgy, hogy közben ne sodorjuk magunkat gazdasági kockázatba, mivel a felkínált feltételek tapasztalataink alapján nehéznek tűnnek.
Köszönjük mindazoknak, akik ezekben az években életet adtak ennek a helynek: törzsvendégeknek, szomszédoknak, művészeknek, egyesületeknek, partnereknek, csapatoknak és barátoknak. Ti valódi értelmet adtatok ennek a helynek, messze túl egy egyszerű bisztrón.
Ez egy élő találkozóhely volt, egy egyszerű és nyitott tér, ahol diákok, családok, a környék lakói, művészek, vállalkozók, újságírók és tanárok találkoztak – franciák vagy magyar frankofónok, illetve egyszerűen frankofilek. Egy hely, ahová dolgozni, beszélgetni, vitatkozni, kávézni vagy meginni egy pohár bort jártak az emberek, és ahol egy igazi francia életérzést lehetett újra megtalálni.
Az elmúlt években valódi gazdasági és társadalmi ökoszisztéma épült körénk: kézművesek, nagyvállalatok, termelők, egyesületek, kulturális és közösségi események. A 14 fős csapatunk egyesületi találkozóknak, intézményi eseményeknek, kulturális és gazdasági együttműködéseknek adott otthont, és sokak számára jelentett mindennapi kapaszkodót. Mindez azért volt fontos, mert kapcsolatokat teremtett, mert mindenki számára elérhető volt, mert egyszerűen élt – ezért jár a nagy köszönet. Mert ez a siker a tiétek is!
