Local Bali Food 101: Ayam guling in Bali hits different, and proves it’s the best local roasted chicken in Bali 🍗😋

This is where locals go when they’re craving proper roasted chicken. That chicken is slow-roasted on a rotisserie until it’s juicy, tender, and evenly cooked, with all the spices fully soaking into the meat.

They have two main flavours. Original is richer with bold Middle Eastern spices deep and savory. Western is lighter more aromatic with rosemary, thyme, and oregano. We tried both… and honestly, both are solid delicious!

For sides, we had white rice and nasi kebuli. Pssttt…they also serve nasi mandhi. Don’t skip the sambal because it ties everything together. Pro tip: skip the 1/4 portion. Go at least half!

You’ll spot all over Bali, from Denpasar across Badung. If you do, just stop and try it. Thank us later.
