Baking my Oma's Dutch recipes takes me back to the 1970s, a time where school and playing were at the top of my to-do list. Coming home from classes, I would smell a warm butter-sweet scent from Oma's hard work at the Kitchen. I would sit on her kitchen stool in awe as I watch her shape batter into tiny little circles. "Tintje, sayang, don't just sit there, help me beat those eggs. If you do a goo

d job I might just give you my secret recipes from Holland!" A sense of excitement filled me and from thereon, the kitchen became my wonderland, the eggs my best friends and my Oma, my hero.
