Flores Farmers to Market is a social enterprise directly benefitting Flores’ farmer communities.
Our vision and future ambitions involve – and not limited to - moving towards Circular Economy in the vegetable and fruit supply chain, organic waste management, women empowerment, reduction the use of single-use packaging, 100% local produced organic and healthy food.
Circular Economy o Deliver fresh produce directly from farmer to clients in Labuan Bajo restaurant sector. o Collect organic waste, food waste from these clients and transport back to the farmers to be used for composting and food for their livestock. This supports preventing organic waste going to landfill and thus supporting Climate Action. Mixed waste in landfills is a major contributor to green house gas emissions. The plastic recyclables from clients will collected via another organisation.
Women Empowerment & Reduction of single-use packaging o Flores women in farming communities are skilled basket weavers, using natural materials from around their village. These baskets can be purchased together with your orders, providing alternative income for the ladies.
