This tiny hand feels like a pretty big deal. ❤️
When this wild monkey first started visiting, he would only sn**ch food from my hand if I looked away. Eye contact meant bared teeth and an angry monkey face.
Now he gently takes snacks from my fingers, lets his hand rest against mine, and is comfortable with me looking at him.
He is still completely wild and free. I’ve never tried to touch him — I’ve just let him decide the distance.
In an area where monkeys are often shouted at or chased with slingshots, and where development is rapidly changing their habitat, earning the trust of one little wild monkey feels incredibly special. 🥹❤️
