Eyed Hawk Moth ! Found two in moth trap this morning alongside our hedge.

Fortnightly surveys are taken from April through October and you can really see the difference when it’s windy or wet that these amazing pollinators are less plentiful.

I have found a new respect for moths after being involved in this annual on farm survey in partnership with Biodiversity Ireland.

Such dazzling wildlife.

What a glorious day. Was out at 4am checking a brood mare and the chorus of birdsong was truly uplifting.

Was gifted wonderful fleece in mid winter and kept for the specific job of mulching hydrangeas in this bed, on the front portion we have used our own bark mulch.

Will be interested to see how long it takes to breakdown.
