Our Story
Derrybrack, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo is home to the highly-renowned farm of Joseph and Catherina Cunnane. By sourcing foundational females from some of the island’s best multi-prize winning herds, the father-and-daughter-duo began breeding pedigree and commercial Aubrac cattle back in 2010. Prior to this major milestone memory, the Cunnane family bred an array of commercial-type cows, with Joseph, a fourth-generation full-time farmer bringing over three decades’ experience to the Agricultural sector; Catherina is a advocate of Women in Agriculture and is involved in the Agri-media industry,
Through the selection of the best available bloodlines in the pedigree Aubrac genetic pool, the team have brought the farm to great heights and continue to cast an eye on improvement. The predominant focus is to enhance the genetic merit of both the pedigree and commercial breeding females in a bid to maintain and improve the herd’s standard.
